Danelectro hits another home run with Chicken Salad
Created: 08/12/10
For $30 it's hard to go wrong with this pedal.
Does it compare to $200 boutique pedals? Probably not, but it'll do a reasonable job on 75% of what the big boys can do (and the Chicken Salad's much less painful to replace if damaged or stolen). The only potential downside with this pedal might be the durability of its plastic case, but it's no big deal to re-house the circuit in a more substantial metal enclosure.
Highly recommended!!! ******
One other caveat: be sure to buy the 9 volt external power supply, if you don't already have one handy. The Chicken Salad will literally drain a brand new battery dead in less than five minutes.

Chicken Salad is a Good Pedal!

Well, if you want to buy a great pedal and don´t have money for some expansive pedal, it´s not problem. This little pedal sounds great, like a Hendrix or Stevie Ray notes.. really incredible. I´m happy with my Danelectro Chicken Salad pedal.

Value For Money Univibe Clone clone
Created: 08/02/11
I bought the Danelctro Chicken Salad Vibrato Effect Pedal as a cheap alternative for a Univibe Clone (150 dollars at least for the Dunlop Clone) and it is just that and a lot more... For less than 40 dollars (transatlantic shipping included) I got a decent clone that if you google a little u can even tweak it and get an even more realistic tone... If combined with a Dunlop Original Wah pedal the Wah effect gets surrealistically freaky! With the right setting u can even use the Chicken Salad as a phaser or an ordinary vibrato! Only disadvantage its only ONE HOUR duration when on a 9V battery... Over All the phrase Value For Money was meant for that product...

The Funky Chicken

For the price this pedal gives you some really sweet tones. From classic Mo Town/Stack Records kinda feel to really lush leslie kinda whirly goodness. I was apprehensive about its construction, after all its primarily housed in a plastic casing, but its actually pretty solid. Overall, if money is an object the Chicken Salad is not a bad alternative to some of the more expensive Vibe or Vibrato pedals out there.
