    Dark Angel - Season 2 (2003, DVD)

    Created: 09/07/07
As established in season 1, Dark Angel is an exciting sci-fi series set in a dystopian not-at-all distant future. After a pulse disabled most technology in 2009, the US was set back to living like a third world country. Crime and violence run rampant. Max, played by Jessica Alba, is a genetically engineered soldier who escaped from her captors and is trying to find a life as a normal girl in this unfortunate setting. Over the series she tries to find her genetically engineered siblings and works on do-gooder causes with her romantic interest, hacker "Eyes Only" Logan.
The show set a president of having a "girl-power" lead character, who was effectively the "brawn" while male love interest was wheelchair bound and the "brains."
In season 2, the story gets more complicated as more genetically engineered characters are introduced. One endearing character is Joshua, the part-man, part-dog who is as sweet and mischievieous as such a character should be. In my opinion, the second season was the better season which more excitement and added complication to the romantic story between Max and Logan. Just when they finally acknowledge their love for one another, a genetic virus is implemented to keep them apart and forever longing. With great story lines, romance, and plenty of action its hard to believe the series only lasted 2 seasons.

I loved season 1, but this was definitely the more grittier season. Max is really developed here, and the reality of the world she and the others live in is a lot darker. It's annoying that she and Logan can't touch because of the virus she carries specifically geared towards him, but hey, it's not like we really expect them to have a happy ending when the season just started! I like the episodes and the new characters, but wish we saw more of the old...maybe that's my one dislike about it. Overall, it's got action gallore, which is a huge plus, and if you love Max, this is just a great reason to buy this dvd set (Jessica Alba is a fantastic actress for this character), and everyone else is on par for the course. This season wraps up with the finale that is fantastic - an ending and yet a new beginning for transgenics (sorry if I mispell transgenics, I have no idea how it's spelled, really). I won't spoil it for you, but it's a pretty good ending, I just wish that it hadn't been cancelled after only two seasons. It would have been really interesting to see how season 3 might have gone...

    I Miss This Show!

    Created: 10/11/05
Season Two of Dark Angel brought back Max and Logan for more excitement, adventure, and romance. New characters are added including Jensen Ackles (From TV's Smallville and Supernatural) character Alec. The "home" of Max, Alec, and there "brothers and sisters" is destroyed leaving them (genetically enhanced humans) and there mutant "brothers and sisters" forced to hide in the streets and try to pass as normal humans. Humans find out and a war begins, a "us" against "them" kind of fight. While the ending to this season/series is left wide open with a million questions, I still would suggest this TV series. Also, after the series ended some questions were answered by books that where published (Three Dark Angel books and one Eyes Only book were released).

Dark Angel--not worth more, certainly, but good for the low price paid!

Well, the box was a little shelf worn, but that was included in the description,so it's okay. The discs were in pretty perfsct shape, so far at least. I was really only buying this because of Jensen Ackles; I am actualy gathering reference on him for an art project. The only unfortunate thing is, I find the show unwatchable. I never watched it originally, and boy, the show is bad! I mean...wow! Jensen was sure no actor, at the beginning of his career! He has apparently learned a lot since Supernatural began, because every time he comes on camera in DA, I want to smack him in the head for being snarky. As for the disc set itself, it really was a pretty good buy, all things considered. I am sure glad I did not pay more for this series, 'cause it kinda sucks!

    Dark Angel: Season 2

    Created: 19/03/10
Great series I wish it never was cancelled. James Cameron did great in this post apocolyptic series based on the life and attempted survival of a female super soldier who adopted the name "Max". She was crossed with feline DNA and taught in all ways of warfare and war engagements but was told by "Zack" her big brother that she and the others had to escape. So she escaped and all of these events happened in the background of what was called the "pulse", a terrorist attack on the US that managed to wipe out all financial records in the US making everyone equally poor and the US a 3rd world country. The events of season one mainly focused on Mantacore (where Max was engineered) rounding up the missing super soldiers, an internet journalist named "Eyes Only" who exposed all forms of corruption and scandal who turns out to be a rich guy named Logan who later Max falls in love with and vice versa. Season 2 focused on Max escaping a second time and going up against a cult of super warriors as well as battling a retro virus designed by mantacore to keep her from being with her lover Logan on the account that when ever they touch he dies unless he gets a vaccine, and the discovery of other mantacore creations telling how they crossed many humans with animals for optimum results in various conditions. Its a must see and must have for any sci fi fan.
