Dark Shadows - The Beginning 2 - Episodes 36 to 70 (DVD, 2007, 4-Disc Set)

Dark Shadows - The Beginning Collection 2 are episodes 36 to 70. Characters are being developed more, the cowardice of Roger and Sam Evans is shown even deeper and how they affect their relationships. The central character of Vicky Winters is at times downplayed but I understand that the other characters need more "drama time" in order to understand their complexities. Even "shallow" Caroline starts to take shape, also more details on Burke Devlin and the appearance of Thayer David start giving the show more meaning.
But it is until that David gets the crystal ball that the show is struggling for identity. Being candid about it, the show didn't had a real identity until the full introduction of the gothic/terror elements....that is the ghost of the lady in white (Barnabas' Life Love Josette).....This made the show the cult classic that it is, and all started at the end of these 35 episodes. Don't get me wrong! The suspense of who killed Bill Malloy is necessary to find the "evils of Collinwood" but could get tiresome at times. Can't wait to get The Beginning 3....as a true fan, I need to have all and watch all 1245 episodes in DVD!.....Long live Dark Shadows!!

I watched this when I was a very small child and when I came home from kindergarden. I liked it a lot back then and I love it even more now that I can start watching it from the beginning and when I have time! This is a must have for anyone who watched Dark Shadows as a child or anyone who likes Soaps in general! LOVE IT!!!

dark shadows is one of the all time tv series ever.and i want to buy the complete series of dark shadows.

This is the second part of the pre-Barnabas, early show series. Great fodder for the dedicated Dark Shadows fan. Lots of background info on the main players - the disturbed relationship between young David Collins and father Roger, and the rivalry between Roger Collins and Burke Devlin. Victoria Winters is no closer to finding out about her past... And Carolyn pines hopelessly over Burke Devlin.

A continuation of the Beginning Collector's series Pre-Barnabas in DVD format! Much better and more room in my shelves! Great Campy Soap! Can wait to get DVD #3!
