Product Information
The first project by the U.S.-based internal development team at Sammy, Darkwatch is a sci-fi western first-person shooter for PS2 and Xbox. Best described as Halo meets Silverado, Darkwatch tells the story of the unlucky cowboy Jericho Cross. A train robber by trade, Jericho spots an unusual target racing down the tracks under the light of the full moon and decides to pillage it as his final score before retiring. Jericho is shocked to discover that the unusually designed train is packed with rotting bodies with a humanoid look he cannot recognize. Cross soon finds himself in a battle for his life against a horde of vampires and other nasties.

Excellent Shooter!!!

Created: 04/12/06
Pros
+ A unique twist on the 1st person shooter.
+ Being able to use vampire powers, a sweet melee, & a real sense of unloading your weapon on an opponent.
+ Huge multiplayer maps for on or offline play.

Cons
- Driving is not as fun as you want it to be.
- Choosing between good & evil doesn't really explore consequences.
- Trying to find a game online. Host advantage.

Comments
Darkwatch has some interesting game elements. This is no basic 1st person shooter. Your team of soldiers is useless but all of your powers make up for it. Jumping is also major fun because you can get a ton of air time. There are quite a few memorable boss fights & rail shooting from your horse. It also has a pretty good story & some nice cutscenes.

Verdict
Must play for any 1st person shooter fan or anyone looking for something different.

Best FPS for the PS2?

Created: 06/10/05
So many shooters claim to be the best. However, as a FPS fan, I still have trouble picking out my favorite. But I can honestly tell you that Darkwatch is up there with the best of them. Great weapons, super melee attacks, excellent controls, and a really cool cartoon-esqe quality to the vampire/western theme provides for an extremely fun experience. Darkwatch is not a survival horror game. It's a standard FPS through and through. And one that shooter fans will surely enjoy!

Outstanding role player in the form of a FP shooter! lots of fresh scenarios with an array of weapons from the iconic Redeemer handgun to a crossbow with exploding bolts to decimate demons from the bowels of hell...or at least the local graveyard.Vampires and banshees and crypts -oh my.
although a few things reminded me of some recent "pirate" games i've played and a certain voodoo enhanced hero...this is a nice twist on a standard shooter with enough fresh attitude for a really good time...BUT keep a light on.

Nice Shooter Game

Created: 13/12/07
4 Different Difficulty Levels, would suggest playing harder levels as the 2 player co-op (very cool availability). Playing solo on harder difficulty is VERY hard.

Good Story Line with decent movie graphics.

Decent Weapon Availability (8 different weapons throughout game). Can have 2 seperate weapons at once with easy interchange and cool looking bad guys to kill/blow up.

Sceen Readouts (health/weapon/ammunition etc..) nice and easy to read.

Overall a nice shoot em up game.

My all time favorite game. There are so many awesome weapons, you can choose your level skill, & you can even decide to be either good or evil, with 2 different game endings, depending on how you chhose to go. Highly recommended!!!!
