Movie synopsis

This action comedy tells the tale of mild-mannered married couple Phil (Steve Carell) and Claire (Tina Fey), who fear their relationship may be falling into a stale rut. During their weekly date night, they impetuously steal a dinner reservation, which leads to a case of mistaken identity. Turns out the reservation was for a pair of thieves, and now a number of unsavory characters want Phil and Claire killed. If they can survive a wacky life-threatening night, they may just rediscover the passion missing from their marriage. Directed by Shawn Levy, the film co-stars Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, and Kristen Wiig.

A Funny Film that's Better than its Critical Bashing

Created: 13/08/10
Comedy is a fickle thing: Hit the right notes and you'll have people laughing the aisles; fall flat and you'll be greeted with stares of confusion. "Date Night," for some reason, clicked with very few critics. Some bemoaned the chemistry between Tina Fey and Steve Carell, while others claimed that the film just wasn't funny. Fortunately, this is one case where the critics were dead wrong. "Date Night" isn't just funny; it's downright hilarious. From Fey and Carell's stuck-in-a-rut interplay to Mark Wahlberg's dead-on parody of his own tough-guy persona, "Date Night" is very much a laugh-in from start to finish. Add in great supporting turns by James Franco, Mila Kunis and William Fichtner, and you've got a true recipe for comedy gold.

In short, skip the critics take on "Date Night" and decide for yourself how funny the movie really is.

A very funny comedy

Created: 09/09/10
Steve Carell and Tina Fey team up in this funny comedy about a couple Phil and Claire Foster who live an ordinary life in New Jersey with their two kids, great jobs and good friends. Phil takes Claire out on the town in Manhattan and things go horribly and turn hilariously funny when they take a reservation at a posh dinner spot under assumed names.

This movie had me roaring with laughter at times as Carell and Fey get into more trouble that one could believe possible. The movie flows throughout it's entire length with non-stop gags and non-stop funny lines all while being completely serious about the entire story.

I really enjoyed this movie and recommend it to anyone who loves a great comedy or wants a good laugh.

The movie also stars: Mark Wahlberg, Jimmi Simpson, Ray Liotta, and Taraji P. Henson

"Good Comedy!"

Created: 08/09/10
Steve Carell and Tina Fey star in this 2010 comedy.
A married couple get a case of mistaken identity
when they try to have a romantic evening. Steve
and Tina are great together and this dvd not only
has nice picture and sound, but theatrical and
extended versions of the film plus neat extras.
I recommend this good comedy.

Date Night

Created: 15/10/10
The film is about a married couple who are so busy at work and home that they barely notice each other. They have the same date night every Friday at the same boring restaurant etc. They feel they are drifting apart so decide one evening to try a different kind of place all together and this is where things go hilariously from bad to worse. It follows the evening from them taking someone else s dinner reservations and the chaos just gets more and more out of hand. I don't really want to give any more away, but this film is very good, easy to watch and very funny.
