Review of "Deal or No Deal"
Created: 18/10/09
This challenging yet exciting PC game is based on one of my favorite modern TV shows. Everything is accurate, from the host, Howie Mandell, to the not-so-friendly Banker, who wants nothing more than to sell your choice of one of 26 cases containing different money amounts for as little money as possible.
First, at the start of the game, I would choose three "helpers" to help you along the way. Then, I would choose one of the 26 briefcases that you think contains the top amount (standard = $1,000,000). Next, I had to knock out a certain number of cases per round before the Banker makes an offer.
The play is as follows:
Round 1 = Open 6 cases
Round 2 = Open 5 cases
Round 3 = Open 4 cases
Round 4 = Open 3 cases
Round 5 = Open 2 cases
Round 6-9 = Open 1 case
The different dollar amounts inside the briefcases range from $1,000,000 all the way down to one penny.
Either way you slice it, I felt the game was so life-like that I thought I was playing for $1,000,000 without actually being on the show itself. I still have not challenged anyone to beat the Banker, but there is a two-player mode in case someone wants to challenge both me and the Banker.
Overall, I decided buy this game because it is similar to chess; the only difference is that there's $1,000,000 on the line, and you have to outsmart the Banker to do so. If you play chess on either a grand or a not-so-grand scale, try your luck, show your guts, and test your timing on this game. Maybe you can answer the all-important question that Howie Mandell asks: "Deal or No Deal?"

Deal Or No Deal is a Fantastic Game!

I didn't expect much from this game. I surely didn't think I could experience the excitement that I do from watching the show. But I was so wrong! If you play it by yourself, it's good. But if you play it with a few family members it's the best! My husband played it last night, and this morning he called me from work to ask me to go on ebay and find one for a friend of his. So obviously he went to work this morning talking about the game. I don't know of anything I dislike about the game. I was just browsing ebay looking for games for my daughter, I saw this game for a great price and thought I would try it. I'm so glad I did! I had to run my 11 year old nephew off the computer, so I could leave feedback this morning! When I went to bed he was playing it, and when I got up this morning he was playing it again! So this game is for the young, old and inbetween! If you love to watch the show, you will love this game!

GREAT GAME LOTS OF FUN JUST LIKE YOUR ACTULLY THERE PLYING GREAT GRAPHICS A+ BEST GAME I EVER PLAYED!
Now you can play the show that
has the nation screaming at their
TV sets on your home PC!
One of the cases is worth a mil-
lion dollars. Another, just a penny.
Simply pick a case, match wits
with the Banker and answer the
question that can change your life.
For added fun, play the "Custom
Prize" mode where you can insert
family-friendly prizes in the briefcases
instead of cash. For some, "Walk My
Dog is the greatest prize of all.
Challenge friends and family to the
game that is equal part nerves and
cunning. All you have to do is
answer one important question . . .

Boring

I love the show so I just had to get this for my birthday.
Couldnt wait for it to arrive, opened the box, and installed it right away to find out that it is the same thing over and over and over and over and over again.
Howie has the same lines, the models all look the same, and the deals dont even act right from the banker. I opened my first 6 cases and they were all under 1,000 and my first offer was 25,000. That would never happen on the show.
Play it online for free like everyone else suggests and save your money on this one. Not even worth the $6 I spent for it.

Not worth the Money

Deal or No Deal
The gameplay is slow and choppy, the sound is boring, Howie is annoying, and they use the same model to open every case (I think?).
You're much better off playing it online for free. The online game isn't much better but at least you don't have to pay for it.
If you're thinking of buying the new version that's playable in your DVD player... avoid it as well, it's worse than any gameshow to game product I've ever seen.
Final verdict:
2/5
