Death Proof

Created: 13/06/07
This disc is a great buy for discovering some good 1970's tracks which have somehow fallen into obscurity. The soundtrack includes some surf guitar, some rock, some soul music and also a tune from Ennio Morricone, the composer of much of Sergio Leone's scores. Tarantino is always able to get a hold of diverse and interesting music for his movies and Death Proof is no exception. The song which initially got my attention was the track titled "Hold Tight". If you've seen the movie then you would have learned that that was the band that Pete Townsend almost left the Who to join. Anyone who dug either the Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs soundtracks ought to won this one as well.

ANOTHER TARANTINO GEM

I don't know how Quentin Tarantino does it but this soundtrack to his newest film, DEATH PROOF, makes you want him to keep making awesome films in order for us to be exposed to his outstanding knowledge of music!

Across the board from a Morricone (hope I spelled that correctly) selection to a lost classic by Dave, Dee, Dozy, Mitch & Titch ( who knew that Pete Townsend almost ditched The Who for these guys?), as well as some choice Kurt Russell dialogue, and you've got a winner of a soundtrack!

Typical Tarantino!!!

Created: 30/01/08
Tarantino finds, or re-finds, great music, makes a score that actually follows the movie set, and it makes for a soundtrack of epic proportions! Nobody can make a soundtrack as infectious as him, and this one is stunning, perhaps only second to the soundtrack from Pulp Fiction. Makes for an impressive roadtripping cd...

PURE Tarantino!!
An eclectic collection of classic tunes that leaves you shaking your head, wondering "Why haven't I ever heard these songs before!!???"
Listening to this soundtrack makes you enjoy the movie Deathproof that much more the next time you watch it.
Trust me when I say anyone who claims to be even half-way cool needs this CD on their ipod.

I bought this CD because I adore Quentin Tarantino films and love the choice of music he incorporates in his film. It is awesome - just as good as all his previous soundtracks. A little music, a little soundbites from the film - what more could you want.
