Movie synopsis

Blue Collar Comedy Tour veterans Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall team up in DELTA FARCE, a military-spoof comedy featuring their southern red-neck stand-up schtick. Bill and Larry, along with their scrawny friend Everett (played by DJ Qualls), are weekend warriors in the Army reserves. Not only have they not trained, but they see the weekend as a getaway from the pressures of their daily lives. But with the military's forces depleted by the no-end-in-sight Iraq War, they turn to their reservists. Bill, Larry, and Everett are thrown into whirlwind boot-camp sessions, led by the commanding powerhouse Sgt. Kilgore (Keith David), to prepare for their upcoming deployment to Iraq. On their overnight flight to the Middle East, a thunderstorm threatens the cargo carrier, and equipment fitted with parachutes is dumped to lighten the load. Unfortunately, this includes the three bumbling friends, who sought refuge in an all-terrain vehicle to catch up on some sleep. They wake up in the desert, confused and disoriented, and assume they've reached the mission destination. But it turns out they aren't anywhere near Iraq--they've landed in Mexico, where they stumble upon a small village that has been overrun and terrorized by gun-wielding gangsters. DELTA FARCE is one of the few war films to be released as the Iraq War is in full swing, and it takes a daringly comedic approach. The starring cast members never abandon the style they've become famous for, providing an abundance of silliness and the usual slapstick antics throughout.

Larry and Bill in Delta Farce

Created: 03/10/07
First of all I'm a big Larry and Bill fan so of course I bought this DVD. This movie has it's moments, but not nearly as funny as Larry's movie "Health Inspector". Both movies can only be appreciated by the avid Larry fan anyway. This movie is overly silly and slapstick in some scenes. DJ Qualls adds a bit of color to the movie, being a total nut ball and all, but Keith David riding a motorcycle in a red sexy nightie?? Over all it's an okay funny movie, but I think Larry and Bill could have done a lot better doing a movie together.

Well Larry the Cable Guy "Get's it done" in this movie. It was real entertainment. Larry, Bill and DJ are great together. I was just one liners after another. I had a interesting story line and had some great band-bang shoot-em up stuff even though no one ever really got shot. A wide aray of weapons were used and really shouldn't have been by these three guy. These three guys and those weapons spells BIG trouble. It was a very enjoyable movie to watch and it will be over and over again. I would recomend this movie to everyone.

A rather stupid comedy, but it has a few moments..

Bill and Larry don't really play to their strengths here. They're much better comedy standup guys than they are comedy actors.

The movie has a few funny parts, but it suffers a lot due to bad writing or.. I don't know what it is, but let me try and explain it. It's as though the script has been butchered in such a way as to fit into a certain rating. There's no blood or gore, and nobody dies, but the cursing is there. The ratings system is flawed, and this movie does its best to fit in some strange category that makes it more of a stupid movie than a funny one.

There are a few comical bits here and there, but for the most part you'll be bored with lame jokes and stupidity.

About as funny as Larry and Bill can get! This movie was funnier and better than I expected! I saw all the previews and knew I just had to see the movie. Last week I saw the other one, Witless Protection, and it was just about as good as Delta Farce. Glad I bought the DVD and so is my wife.

Movie wasn't very funny. I think that Larry the Cable Guy is a very funny stand up comic along with Bill Engval. However, this movie did not live up to their reputation. The plot of the movie wasn't very interesting either. If you want to see a funny movie with Larry the Cable Guy, watch Health Inspector.
