Album NotesOriginal score composed by Elliott Goldenthal. While dated in hindsight, at the time of its 1993 release Elliot Goldenthal's Demolition Man represented a new kind of Hollywood action score, combining classical symphonic arrangements and pulsating, postmodern techno rhythms to create larger-than-life music with one foot in cinema's past and the other in its not-so-distant future. Goldenthal pulls out all the stops here -- rousing orchestral flourishes collide head-on with bulldozer electronic beats, creating an unholy noise that's big, bold, and undeniably exciting. And Goldenthal positively revels in the sheer excess he creates -- Demolition Man is dumb fun with a Ph.D., its hyper-aggression and sonic overkill wrought with tongue firmly in cheek and heart firmly in the right place. ~ Jason Ankeny
