Product Information
King Allant the XII, the last king of Boletaria, searched tirelessly to expand his might. The Nexus, a great ice shrine nestled in the mountains, bestowed the power of the souls onto him, bringing prosperity to his kingdom. Still unsated, he returned again to the Nexus, where he foolishly awakened the Old One from its eternal slumber. This long forgotten evil, now wrought upon Boletaria, plunged the realm into darkness and fog. A mighty demon horde poured into the kingdom, devouring the souls of men. Champions from other realms learned of Boletaria's fate and sought to deliver the kingdom from evil; none would return from the cursed land. Called upon by a mysterious maiden in black, you go forth, the last hope for humanity in a place lost to demons and darkness...

    You are going to die.

    Created: 17/07/10
welcome to demon souls a game made well-known due to its rumored crippling difficulty , and let's get this out of the way now YOU WILL DIE.

    Story:
This game revolves around you, make a backstory for your character if you will but as far as i know the story is..you are a knight who heard of a kingdom enshrouded in a great-fog. No one has entered the fog and returned to tell the tale but in said fog lies a world filled to the brim with demons, undead warriors, and humans turned into puppets. undaunted by the mystery behind this fog you enter it, and whether you make it back or not is up to you.

    Gameplay:
gameplay-wise demon souls is a combination between western rpg's such as diablo and action-adventure games such as to some extent uncharted ( but without the guns and set in the middle ages).as far as rpg's are concerned you start the game with a selection of about 12 classes . these classes will just determine the stats you start with and you will have the ability to manipulate them as much as you want. yes you can turn your mage into a warrior or even better you can make a mage that has the magic abilities of a mage and the physical strength of a warrior.

aside from the intro levels you will spend your free time in the main hub , within said hub are five stones that give you access to five different worlds. from that point your progress through different parts of the world in a level-progression style. for example world1-area 1 is refereed to as simply 1-1. all 5 worlds have 5 areas and they will test you, this game does a good job of changing the pace and providing visual tweaks to environments. You should never become bored of the environments demon souls.

sound wise this game is amazing...there is VERY little music and none except during boss fights in the normal levels. but you will here your sword clang as it clashes with the cobblestone of the castle, and hear your arrows as they penetrate the skin of an enemy. Every sound matters in demon souls, and some will send you into a panic while others will make you appreciate the environment even more. the blow of the wind through the empty halls of the castle just further reinforces what this land was and what it has become.

multiplayer: the multiplayer of demon souls i fantastic, during the singleplayer oyu are a lone warrior but with the use of stones other players can offer their services to assist you at nearly any time. to invite them into your world you look for blue writing and accept their offer to help. considering the difficulty of the game though having two allies doesn't ensure victory by any means .

overall demon souls is an amazing rpg, that while having very little story manages to still immerse players in its world. It challenges you and forces you to learn how to survive, you may have assistance but the greatest help you can get is to make yourself stronger. at some point you will become a badass of your own and you will not only enjoy the difficulty , you will love it. and once yo ureach that enlightened state of skill , i promise my friend your knight will be the first to emerge from the fog.

    Brutal, addictive, downright AWESOME!!!

    Created: 02/03/10
You've heard the stories, the tales about Demons Souls difficulty, and all I can say is yes, this game is extremely hard......at first, since patience and persverence are higly rewarded. In the first moments of gameplay you´ll atart to notice that this game is intended to be taken with calm, to study the situation, take your enemies seriously no matter how lowly they seem and strike surely and precisely. If you dont get this pointers into mind and go out guns blazing you will get nowhere. For those who fine tune their skills and persevere, they will find an addictive game, with tons to do, explore, collect, and one of the most solid combat engines to date. In asthetics, the game equaly delivers, with awesome graphics, and great atmospheric music and sounds. Storywise there is not much of a development in narrative, but the world speaks for itself. There is a background story that sets the scenario and its your traverse through this world whaht creates a story your story, to stop the supreme evil that has plagued the land. Then you have the online, which is like so many reviewers have said, unlike anything seen before. The online component is integrated into the game as to serve as a part of its mythos. By using special stones given in the game you can access imediately the online aspects without ever loosing the appeal of the western mythology world. This game is a masterpiece in every sense, few games punish so hard but can turn that harshness into something that attracts you rather than push you away. That was the first thing that hooked me, the fact that I was getting whopped so badly but at the same time I had the feeling that everything to conquer adversity was within my grasp, and thats exactly how it is. This is a must own, not just for hardcore gamers, but also everyone looking for a challenge and simply an awesome game. 5 out 5 for this one, GOD! Im happy I own a PS3 :)

Demon's Souls-One of the top PS3 games of the year

    Created: 01/11/09
I bought this game knowing it would be tough and it didn't let me down. From the first minute of the game, you need to keep your head straight or have it chopped off by the hoards of undead and demon spawn. For those asking why it's so hard, one of the main reasons is that if you die, you have to start the dungeon from scratch, with the exception of switches opened which act as short cuts. However, not all the levels have those. I've beat the game a few times through now and I'm about to get my platinum. The replay value is great. After I get my platinum I'm going to try out online pvp play and co-op online play(dabbled in it a bit but not a lot). It's definately the best RPG I've played for PS3(better than Oblivion in my opinion). It's a true test of patience at times, but in the end it is well worth it. If you have the time to sit and think about strategy, try different things, look online for help occasionally, then you will get through this game and love it. If you are looking for an easy experience you can beat in a few days and move on, then I would keep looking elsewhere!

    Demon's Souls - PS3

    Created: 20/10/09
Another heavy hitter exclusive on the PS3. This is by far the best RPG on the PS3 thus far. This is a must buy for anyone whole loves RPGs.
    Pros:
Stunning visuals, some of the best one the system.
Very difficult, challenging, yet rewarding experience.
Customizable character, including the facial features and all of the governing stats.
    Fantastic musical experience.
A wealth of unique and powerful enemies.
    Cons:
It can be a bit too difficult for some people, not for all. If you do now like a challenge, you probably won't enjoy this much.

So all in all, for someone who loves a challenging RPG, this is a must buy.

A jaw-dropping RPG that is very punishing

    Created: 09/12/09
Demon Soul is a beautiful action role playing game. The game is filled with many innovations. Your character, for instance, can carry two weapons for each hand. The game allows you to mix and match different equipment types. You can equip two swords at the same time or even two shields. You are also able to switch between 2 sets of equipped weapons at any time. There are also world and character 'tendencies'. Tendency shifts to white if you defeat bosses, or shifts to black if you are killed in your "living body form". The game gets harder if tendency shifts to black. The multi-player element in the game is also innovative. You are able to invade another person's game and hunt him/her down as a phantom. Nice.

    Pros:
-Very creative and inspired artistic design
    -Beautiful graphics and music
-Easy to get used to and intuitive combat controls
-Excellent level design with many hidden areas and items
    -Unforgettable environments and enemies
-Nonlinear level design allows you to visit any worlds at any time

    Cons:
-Very punishing, the final boss has the ability to lower your character's level! ouch
-If you have many spells memorized you'll have to cycle through them all to find the one you want
-The save file is copy protected so you won't be able to make a backup copy of it at your PS3 save data utility

My character level is 113 and it took me 77 hours to beat the game, so there is a lot of content here for the dollar. In the end Demon Souls is an awesome RPG that isn't for everyone.
