We bought this receiver to upgrade our home theater set-up, and incorporate HDMI connectivity for our sound system. Wow - what a difference over an optical audio connection. The 2112CI is at the lower price range of Denon's line-up, but proved to be a big increase in sound and features over our last Denon receiver. A slightly higher power rating delivers a big increase in actual volume, and using the microphone/speaker set-up process yielded a much fuller sound field using the same 5.1 speakers. The only thing I would change at this point is Denon's screw-in speaker wire connections - which provide a solid connection, but are tedious to work with in tight confines.

The receiver has exceeded my expectations. The sound has been great. Setup was easy once I ignored the instructions. The instructions are not for the faint of heart. Tried to call Denon, but was on hold for over 45 minutes.
