Album Notes
On his third solo album, DEPARTURE, singer/former child star Jesse McCartney makes a break from his squeaky-clean Disney-bred pop sound, opting instead for an overtly R&B vibe. Clearly aiming for Usher/Chris Brown territory, McCartney sounds most at home on songs that don't completely stray from his bubblegum past, most notably the catchy single "Leavin.'"

I would have to say this is Jesse McCartney's best work. He picked all ths right producers. It has more of a r&b/hip-hop influence. "Leavin" is a big favorite. He is a lot more versitle with his vocals like on upbeat tracks like "Rock wit u". "My baby" has an 80's pop sound to it. I love the whole album. I would recommend this to any r&b/pop fans. This boy can sing!

The Evolution of Jesse

Created: 20/05/08
I liked his music previously with his boy band looks and simple songs but now it's gotten more steamier and serious as his tones change and the style of music. I absolutely am loving it I must say because it opens a broader perspective to listeners of what he can accomplish and what different genres he can fit into rather than just staying in the streams of Radio Disney. He's certainly been busy these days accomplishing quite much and it only goes on to continue and this album should prove him even more worth of listener's ears and attention.
