Movie synopsis

A mysterious criminal mastermind has stolen one of the pyramids in Egypt, sparking a fit of jealous envy in evil genius Gru (Steve Carell), who hasn't managed to make headlines since he and his minions swiped the Times Square JumboTron years back. Ever since Gru was a little boy, he dreamed of going to the moon. Now, if Gru can just build a rocket and get his hands on a powerful shrink-ray, he can cement his reputation as the greatest thief who ever lived by stealing the Earth's satellite right out of the sky. But immediately after Gru heists the shrink-ray, the cunning super-nerd Vector (Jason Segel) swoops in and snatches it right out of his hands. Now, in order to claim the moon, Gru must first reacquire the weapon from Vector. Armed with the knowledge that his nemesis has a mean sweet tooth, Gru adopts cookie-selling orphans Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Agnes (Elsie Fisher), and Edith (Dana Gaier) and commissions a new line of cookie robots from the evil Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand), his personal weapons specialist. But as Gru and his diminutive yellow minions prepare to carry out the biggest heist in history, something strange happens. Gru discovers that the three little girls who have come into his life are much more than simple pawns. They actually seem to care about Gru, and it turns out the scheming evildoer makes a pretty good father. When Gru realizes that his upcoming moon mission clashes with a ballet performance by the girls, he must decide what's more important -- being a present parent or cementing his nefarious reputation once and for all., MIGHTY MACHINES teaches kids and adults about many different contraptions that vehicles used in various aspects of modern life. This edition concerns itself with different elements of cars one sees on the road every day.

Despicable Me (DVD , 2010)

Created: 20/01/11
This movie is about a egocentric professional thief who is used to being the best of the best. But someone else has beat his record and stole the pyramids in Egypt. He thinks up a spectacular heist to steal the moon but to do that he needs to steal a shrink machine. Using 3 orphaned girl selling cookies under duress from the orphanage he temporarily adopts the girls to get access to the thief who possesses the shrink machine. Mission accomplished but a change of plans occurs; he gets emotionally attached to the little girls and they to him. Their dance recital is the day of the heist. He tries to do both and fails. He does steal the moon but finds out the shrinking is very temporary. The rest is about how he gets the girls back and makes them apart of his life and what happens to the moon and the complications to the other thief.

Old meany criminal mastermind, Gru (Steve Carell-- 'nuff said), decides to steal the moon. He uses 3 cute lil girl orphans as pawns for his evil plan-- & his whole world turns upside down when he falls for the girls-- & they love him as their Daddy. The minions are supercute, too!! One of my fave top movies for 2010.

A Movie that's Perfect for Adults & Children

Created: 17/01/11
An evil villain set in his criminal ways has a change of heart after adopting three girls for an evil scheme against his nemesis. His transformation, however, does not happen over night. After catering to, bribing, and modifying his lifestyle for the girls in order to get them to do what he wants, he realizes that his evil schemes aren't as important to him as he once thought. This is a movie that both adults and children can enjoy.

Despicable Me DVD 2010)

Tooooo cute!!!!! There were so many funny, yet touching moments in the movie. Steve Carell's depiction of Mr. Gru was just too funny!!! The three little girls just captured my heart! And all the little yellow and blue people - that seemed to all have a stigmatism of sorts ... hats off to the movie!!! I think I will get a backup copy in case something happens to this one!!!

Ticklingly funny, sweet humor, Precious!

Created: 21/12/10
I saw this movie at the theater with my 32 year old son before it came out in video and I loved the animation and the sounds of the childrens' voices! I could'nt help but giggle at the characters' reactions to each other and it reminded me of people and real life situations I know of, only animated. That's what would make me and my 32 year old son laugh the hardest! It also had a thoughtful "moral to the story" ending. I was surprized it had a P.G. rating at the theater where I first saw it because I've seen so many more t.v. cartoons that are much more objectionable.I give it a AAA rating! As soon as it became available on the market, I bought it immediately!
