DigiTech RP500 Multi-Effects Guitar Effect Pedal

I've gone full-circle (several times) with multieffects and stand-alone pedals and from the early days (GSP-21) to my GT-Pro rack unit, multieffects have improved a LOT! I was looking for a small unit for grab and play use with a Blues Jr that didn't require hauling the rack and pedalboard. I bought the RP500 sound-unheard based on prior DigiTech experience and putting the unit in perspective - I wasn't expecting much. As with any multieffects unit, I expected to sit and tweak the presets to get a basic good tone. Out of the box the presets sound great on this thing! Albeit, they'll still get tweaked, but I was blown away at the improvements in tone. I'm not giving up the rack/board setup - but the RP500 is a great portable grab 'n play tone machine!

I was in the market to add to my growing guitar and effects collection and the DT RP500 fit the bill - After searching for a couple of days, I found this one in at a price I could handle - the sale went smoothly and when received the pedal, I was surprised to find it in it's original box - And the condition of the pedal was immaculate...as if it had never been used. - I plugged it in immediately and tested it out...It certainly lived up to my expectations...I continue to be blown away by Digitech and the quality and creativity they put into their products.

works well straight into PA. Headphone jack allows you to only hear you while full sound still goes to the house. I use this as a personal in ear monitor. This function also allows you to practice at home without the need for an amplifier. Presets are easy to edit. Simple to use and about 1/2 the presets sound good with small amoumt of editing. The other 1/2 are wierd-space sounds and such, but I only use around 8 presets anyway. I chose it because it's rugged and there is none of the press 1 & 2 pedals together to switch to the tuner mumbo jumbo. easy on the fly switching is what it's all about. The best out there. You can get it for under $200.00 if you are patient and look around.

This is my first professional effects pedal that i have bought and i like it. I like the array of presets and the ability to tweak them. If you spend time with this you can get some great sounds. I use this for studio applications only so I cant comment for anyone gigging with this. The one annoying flaw is the lack of an off button. That to me is ridiculous and is why it cant get a 5 rating. Great begintermediate guitar pedal.

Nothing that I dislike. Dightech made a great jog with this Guitar Effect Pedal.

I'm using a Fender, combined with Digitech can possible to make a professional sound.
