Dinosaurs- The Complete First Season

This is one of the best family shows ever played on Tv. I love Jim Henson and he out did himself with this series. The baby is adorable and steals the show. Daddy Earl makes a living as a tree pusher and gets beat up by the baby because he is "NOT THE MOMMA". Grandma Ethyl hates Earl and of course lives in his house to make his life miserable. Fran his wife is a house wife who takes care of Robbie and Charlene who are forever getting into trouble. Then there is the refrigerator which has a mind of it own, you have to remember the food is still alive. Compared to other movies on the market this is geared more to the family but extremely funny, if you like Family Guy or American Dad you may like this movie. My kids and I sat down and laughed non-stop for hours and must have.

Dinosaurs - Jim Hensen TV Show

I watched the shows when they were on TV and they are hilarious (for kids and parents alike). I bought several of the VHS tapes on eBay a few years ago, but when I heard this was coming out on DVD I had to have it. I searched around for the best price and low and behold the lowest price was on eBay. I bought it and our family has enjoyed it immensely. My daughter has especially enjoyed it, since she was too young to remember the shows when they were on TV.
Everyone should own this! Great family fun, but mature enough for adults to get the subtle underpins!

DINOSAURS

News stories written at the time of the show's premiere highlighted Dinosaurs' connection to Jim Henson, who had died the year before. "Jim Henson dreamed up the show's basic concept about three years ago," said a New York Times article in April 1991. "'He wanted it to be a sitcom with a pretty standard structure, with the biggest differences being that it's a family of dinosaurs and their society has this strange toxic life style,' said [his son] Brian Henson. But until The Simpson's took off, said Alex Rockwell, a vice president of the Henson organization, 'people thought it was a crazy idea.'"[1]
In the late 1980s, Jim Henson had worked with illustrator/designer William Stout on a feature film starring animatronic dinosaurs with the working title of The Natural History Project; a 1993 article in The New Yorker said that Henson continued to work on a dinosaur project (presumably the Dinosaurs concept) until the "last months of his life."[2]
The television division of the Walt Disney Company began working on the series in 1990 for CBS before the series landed on ABC.

DINASAURS - COMPLETE FIRST AND SECOND SEASON
Created: 05/06/08
Dinasaurs was a delightful, one-of-its-kind sitcom from my late childhood. The premise is a family of dinosaurs wtih a father, mother, teenagers, and baby that all talk like humans, and have modern day woes and such. The Dinasaur family could be compared to the Simpsons or Family Guy without the crassness, so it's safe for all ages. After the birth of our latest child, my husband and I were remembering how the baby dinasaur refused to call his daddy anything but "NOT the Mama!", and agreed that we needed to share this humor with the rest of our kids! We were delighted to find this DVD, and hope others can enjoy what we know will someday be a classic!
