Movie synopsis

Fans of the side-splitting spoofs of MEET THE SPARTANS and DATE MOVIE will get plenty of laughs from this film from directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer., Fans of the side-splitting spoofs of MEET THE SPARTANS and DATE MOVIE will get plenty of laughs from this film from directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. The directors reunite with Carmen Electra, and their film also features Matt Lanter, Vanessa Minnillo, Kim Kardashian, and comedian G Thang., Jason Friedberg and Adam Seltzer--the two guys who did EPIC MOVIE, DATE MOVIE, SCARY MOVIE, and MEET THE SPARTANS--bring you DISASTER MOVIE, a compendium of gross-out gags and reference-check quasi-satire bits aping THE INCREDIBLE HULK, INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, JUMPER, ENCHANTED, DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN, SEX AND THE CITY, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM, and so on. The story is structured via CLOVERFIELD with Will (Matt Lanter), after having a 10,000 B.C.-style dream involving an Amy Winehouse look-a-like (Nicole Parker), races against time to rescue his girlfriend (Vanessa Minnillo) who is trapped in a museum with references to TWISTER; meanwhile kids who look like the teens from SUPERBAD try and score booze. What? Along for the ride are a JUNO-esque slacker girl (Crista Flanagan) and Gary "G-Thang" Johnson; there are take-offs of ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS, and celebrity impersonations of Dr. Phil, Michael Jackson, the real Kim Kardashian, and the ubiquitous Carmen Electra; lots of dances and fights and dance/fights (à la STEP UP and STEP UP 2 THE STREETS). The comedy talent here is mostly imported from MAD TV, particularly Parker, who also does ENCHANTED and a mean Jessica Simpson. The recipe here, as before, is to cram in as many pop-culture references as possible, douse liberally with gross bodily fluids, and serve face forward. In other words, it's the perfect film for loud shouts and inappropriate laughter with a roomful of one's most off-color cohorts.

Not as funny as I hoped

Created: 07/04/09
In a long line of comedy spoofs, featuring a declining carmen electra as a punchline, this movie wasnt what i expected but still able to pull in a few laughs. I guess the lack of veteran writers or veteran actors of decnet talent could have made this better but i can honestly say im glad i g=bought it on blu ray and not seen it in the theatres.

Why are they still making these...?

Created: 23/12/08
Just one question: Why are they still making these movies?...Anyone? Seriously, why do they insist on making more of this garbage? Does this studio not have any dignity? They could have stopped a long time ago and said: "Okay, we screwed up, lets not make any more of these horrendous movies...Nope! Let's make more!". These movies are complete garbage. Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, Superhero Movie, and now Disaster Movie. All of these movies are so bad, that when you finish watching them you are thinking: "Wow, I cannot believe that I have just wasted an hour and a half of my life on this garbage". In all seriousness, a monkey could have put this together, actually, I think a monkey did make these movies. Because they are just completely stupid, have absolutely no point, and are not in any way funny. I feel bad for writers that have good screenplays and have been turned down in order to make these movies. They could make anything, literally anything, and it will be better than this.

This is a very good movie to watch and have some laughs at.

I enjoyed the parodies in this movie, and if you liked epic movie or meet the spartans, you will like this one too.

Disaster Movie

Well I bought it because it was very cheap. Can't beat the price of the product itself. Also the Idea of an Unrated version of a movie is pretty good. The honest fact about this movie is that it is almost entirely disastrous as the title ensuses. Bad character inpersonations, bad acting and, paint by numbers writing. I thought they would hike up most of the content in this movie by adding more outrageous shock worthy footage. But it wasn't more than just an uncensored track. I wouldnt recommend this for renting but it was nice to watch it with anticiaption. 2 of the 6 writers need to stop making spoof movies for real.
