Hollywood, California and Larrabee Studios, Hollywood, California.Additional personnel: Amy Lee.A cursory listen to DISCLAIMER reveals a debt to such U.S. heavy rock bands as Papa Roach and Drowning Pool, no great shock since Seether producer Jay Baumgardner had previously worked with both of those bands. The surprising part is that this very American-sounding nu-metal band actually comes from South Africa. Their homeland is where the Dave Matthews Band comparisons abruptly end, though. Seether goes for the time-tested power-trio format that's served hard-hitting rock bands in good stead throughout the decades, from Mountain to Nirvana. Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Shaun Morgan is at the heart of the group's sound, his angst-ridden lyrics and emotive delivery occasionally suggesting the influence of the aforementioned Kurt Cobain-fronted band. Grunge flavoring to the contrary, though, this is a solidly contemporary band whose sheer sonic force puts them directly in the forefront of circa-2002 heavy rock.

3 stars out of 5 - ...Stuffed with angst-y images of burning houses, expired dreams and even bed-wetters....Not much optimism here, but a little toe-tapping catharsis counts for a lot...

Not bad for a band out of South Africa.

I found Seether when I was looking for some videos on Yahoo Music and I came a cross the video for Broken, which features Amy Lee from Evanescence. I love Evanescence, for Amy's amazing vocals and John and Terry's riffs and of course Rocky's drums. After watching the video I went serching for more and found more about them and I decided to give them a try. The CD is great and the DVD with the music videos and live concert are in good quality, but not like movie quality, but the sound is very good. Shawn has a style of writing that is pretty unique and you can hear it in the music. Overall if you like Evanescence's spooky rock, you would enjoy Seether's equal or greater spook rock as well. Enjoy the Music!!!!!!!!!

    Disclaimer - The second coming

    Created: 17/04/08
On the CD the new versions of the original Disclaimer tracks are very good. The song "Broken" is fantastic with Amy Lee (from Evanescence). The seven new songs are great. And the DVD is also cool with all the videos and an eight song concert.

    Awesome Group , Awesome C D

    Created: 30/12/07
I have worn out this CD. The first song, Gasoline, really gets you reved up and the last, Broken, with Amy Lee is really satisfying and absolutely beautiful. Everything in between is gravy, really good gravy! The acoustic version of Broken is beautiful too. I really love Driven Under, heck the whole thing's great. They're comng to my area soon and I can't wait!!!

    Amaziing And Emotional Album

    Created: 03/10/06
This album is a must have for any fans of good, meaningful hard rock music. While the 1st version of Disclaimer is very good, the reworked songs are on a whole other level. The extra songs are amazing as well. Shaun Morgan's songs bring out an emotional response that will touch you. He channels the likes of Kurt Cobain and you really feel his pain and angst. This album will definitely be among my Top 10 albums of all time.

I may be a late bloomer to Seether but I find this album just as good and the second and third. I absolutely love the voice of Shaun Morgan and find his writing extremly unique. I think the way he relates his feelings is amazing and the music goes without saying. I am now a proud owner of this cd and I highly recommend it. I also loved the dvd and all of the extras so thank you Seether and if you are looing for some great music of this genre, it's all here. sashastevie
