covers the topic but is a little dated

This book covers a number of situations where disease has impacted history--for example, the black death in Europe and Napoleon's retreat from Russia due at least in part, to typhus infections of his troops. It's a good book that I wish would be updated to bring it more current. I bought the book as research for a course I'm giving on diseases and history.

Well-written

This book is well-written, but perhaps a little dry... You need to appreciate both microbial pathogens and history to enjoy this book, but if you do, this book is for you!
