Editorial Reviews
It's a single, grand, dense, continual, epic trip into core stuff the Cure did well.
Pitchfork

DISINTEGRATION is less a collection of epically needy songs and more the distillation of a specific feeling...

4 stars out of 5 -- [A] work of tragic, ineffable beauty....[With] a sound of frosty, slo-mo grandeur, constructed around boomy drumming, flanged guitar and magisterial synths.
Mojo

The nuances that Robert Smith and David M. Allen lent the final production -- warm tones, balanced tempos, cascading guitars -- saved the album's comforting gloom from becoming innocuous.

CD The Cure....Disintegration

Created: 31/05/10
This is the BEST album The Cure has ever made, both lyrically and instrumentally. Robert Smiths vocals transfix you, the lyrics "speak to you"- he has the uncanny ability to get inside your head and put together YOUR feelings in words.. I have had the immense pleasure of seeing them Live for the first time at age 16 in Toronto, Canada, during "The Wish" tour, and have seen them 4 other times (all Toronto). Every effort is consisitently put into every set- they have never played for less than 2 hours, and then had 2-3 Encore's. Live is just as great as digitally remastered, the instruments and lyrics are always dead on but not lip syched (sp?). Any person who gives "alternative/punk" a chance will discover they are true music icons, one of the last bands ever to play long instrumental intros, and literally keep their vocal quality, never "sell out" and always appear eager to please the audience. If you have never heard any Cure songs, for "anger" try "Disintegration", love "Love Song" and sorrow "Pictures of You" or "Plainsong" or "Swimming in the Same Deep Water as You".....I NEVER write reviews, as everyone's personal taste generally dictates their preferences, but for young (I am now still the biggest fan in my eyes, my babies fall asleep listening to "Rock-a-bye"- Renditions of The Cure, instrumental by orchestra (BRILLIANT!) and old alike, I find it almost impossible for anyone NOT to like real instruments and meaningful lyrics.

MASTERPIECE !

THIS IS THE ULTIMATE WINTER ALBUM .

Nothing can compete with this atmosphere .
You can fell the sadness of the sea. you are drowning in the beauty of the music.

I remember the day I bought the cd and listen to it in the first time = I felt that I discovered new dimension of music and beauty

The combination of the most Clear deep guitars sound with the most magical and beautiful synthesizers strings- are pure perfection

Robert Smith voice is so deep beautiful and melancholic.

My favorite tracks = Plainsong. Pictures of You.The Same Deep Water as You.
Prayers for Rain.Fascination Street

Disintegration is the greatest album ever

Created: 10/06/10
It's not just my opinion, it's fact. Disintegration combines so many different stylistic songs, rhythms, yet they all mesh. Simon's creative basslines take you on a gentle musical ride. Boris' drum parts carry you on Simon's ride. Roger's key parts add that extra emotion and accent Robert's outstanding vocals. Porl's guitar riffs add a heavy twist, and Robert's emotions can very clearly be heard through his vocals.
The lyrics will tear your heart open, the music will soothe the wounds. So when you pop this album in, just know the journey you are about to embark on.

Best album ever

Created: 04/10/09
While some songs stood out to me right away (Fascination Street, Disintegration, Lovesong), others took a while to grow on me (Pictures of You, Untitled, Closedown.) Let it be known that every single song on this album is amazing. The whole album builds up to its climax, the song Disintegration, and 8-minute long masterpiece. Then the album fades out with the two strong closers, Homesick and Untitled. Everything about this album is great. It changed my life forever and will surely change yours if you give it a listen.

Feeling the cure

Created: 04/04/08
Disintegration is probably the best Cure album of all time in my opinion. The guitar work is cutting edge. I love the arpreggios on Last Dance. This is a must buy for those who like to feel their music.
