Captivating
Created: 05/01/07
There are a total of 3 videos that we own that my daughter enjoys watching all the way thru. This is one of them. She gets bored easily if a video doesn't totally captivate her. She loves music, puppies, and babies, and Baby Beethoven Symphony of Fun has all three! The music is timeless, and classical music has been proven to stimulate intelligence. The puppets, toys, animals, and colors are very entertaining. And the children on the video have become her friends. I highly recommend this Baby Einstein video for children 9-months-old to 3-years-old.

Love Baby Einstein

I don't understand why someone would make such a big deal over these Baby Einstein movies. My 2 older children watched them as babies. They are both in school and part of the Gifted and Talented program. My son reads 3 levels above his grade. He especially loved the Baby Einstein movies. They teach the children at an early age. And it has been medically proven that classical music helps babies. I am excited about getting this movie for my 3 month old!

Television and videos not good for children under 2
Created: 20/02/08
The name "Baby Einstein" can lull you into thinking it's okay or even good for babies to watch t.v., but the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television AT ALL to children under 2 because so many studies have proven its harmful effects on children. Studies have shown that:
- for every hour of television a baby watches a day, their chances of acquiring an attention deficit disorder increases by 10%.
- among babies ages 8 months to 16 months, every hour spent daily watching programs such as 'Brainy Baby' or 'Baby Einstein' translated into six to eight fewer words in their vocabularies as compared with other children their age."
- brain wave activity in babies is slower when watching television than when sleeping.
"Signing Time" (Two Little Hands Productions) DVDs is an option for occasional video viewing because communicating in sign language with your child is proven to:
- reduce frustration and tantrums
- accelerate language development
- promote parent-child bonding
Last thing for new moms - carrying newborn babies (in arms or next to body) an extra 3 hours a day resulted in 40% less crying. So carrying baby in a carrier or sling can help calm fussy babies!

Baby Einstein DVD
Created: 05/09/06
I bought this DVD for my 11 month old son. He has a few other Baby Einstein dvd's (Numbers, Languages, and one other one I can't remember) - he just loves these! However, it took a few times for him to catch on to the Beethoven dvd. The music is pretty good, and there's some cool toys shown (he liked the train). It might have been better to start with this one when he was first interested in looking at the tv (6-7 months), it seems a bit boring for an 11 month old. If there's a Baby Einstein that only has the puppets and music, please let me know - my son adores the puppets!
I would recommend this to 6-8 month olds who are laid back (or save it for quiet time before or after a nap). For older baby's, who are laughing :) , 10-12 months, I recommend Baby DaVinci, or Numbers instead. Cognitively, these are more suitable.

Great

You gotta get these for your small babies and toddlers. Great to learn language skills, classical music, painting of the great artists and much more!!! Why is kindergarten obselete? Because Baby Einstein has found a way to teach all the Kinder skills at a much younger age. My kid begs to watch these at least 3 times a day! If you're going to use DVD's to entertain your kid, this is the ultimate solution! Education and entertainment! I ordered all 22 for $50!! That's an Ebay bargain....
