Disney's A Christmas Carol (DVD, 2010)

I love the old vesion this is a new version that the family will like as well !
It's worth buying ! It's Always Nice To Watch A New Holiday Movie With Family When The Holidays Are Approaching.My family loves the story.
This animated version of A Christmas Carol is quite close to the original version, The animation looked quite realistic .Several startling scenes had me, well, startled--yes, I even shouted once or twice when I got spooked! Young children should find some of the scenes frightening (parents, be advised). I think this version did a better job than some others of illuminating Scrooge's changing heart through the course of the spirits' visits. All three spirits were well portrayed, but I do fault the Disneyesque need to show Christmas Present's corpse transform into bones and dust.

All in all, though, A Christmas Carol--this version too--reminds us in a secular way of distinctly Judeo/Christian truths, that the love of money must never trump our genuine concern for our fellow creatures (i.e., other people), that life brings tremendous joy to all, and that even the meanest, least likable, bitter, hateful curmudgeon can become whole.

Funny man Jim Carrey stars in this remake of the classic children's tale Directed by Robert Zemeckis (The Polar Express). This latest release was originally presented in Digital 3-D and was the first Disney movie in IMAX 3-D.

The story of Scrooge is well know by all and this latest version stays true to the original plot.

Carey plays 4 roles in this film, he plays Ebenezer Scrooge as well as the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.

Additional Cast includes: Gary Oldman, Cary Elwes, Colin Firth, Bob Hoskins, Robin Wright Penn, Ryan Ochoa, and Molly C. Quinn.

This is a good remake and would make a good addition to anyone's Disney Library

Collect "Christmas Carol" because this is my favorite story...this version is one of the best at capturing the characters as Dickens described them...almost a bit too much with special effects but the feeling, acting and visuals is truly one of the best interpretations of this classic

I saw this playing at Wal-Mart in the TV section and the quality and detail of the CG picture stopped me, and I stood there engrossed in the scene. My wife had to come find me to get our shopping done. I was going to get the movie there, but they wanted $20.00 for it. I came home and found it non e-bay for much less, and we watched it together.
The movie is fantastic, and the characters are cool! The details in the scenes is amazing, and one would have to watch it several times to take it all in.
All in all, this is the best telling of the story we have seen. Well worth getting and watching.

This was a very imaginative movie with many fine animation details. This film was a little morbid for a Disney movie and parents should view it first before allowing their children to watch it, in case their children get nightmares easily. Otherwise, it was a great interpretation of the story. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes Jim Carrey as an actor, he shines in all the parts he plays in this picture and adds another element not portrayed in other Christmas Carol films. I can't wait to watch it every year for Christmas!
