Dot and the Kangaroo (DVD, 2001)

I still have a tv recording of "Dot and The Kangaroo" and it still holds a place in my heart. This was the first Dot movie I ever saw before "The Whale", "The Koala", and "The Smugglers". I would recommend this movie for children aged 10 or older. I only set that age because of a scary scene in the movie that still sends shivers up my spine and I wouldn't want any child to have nightmares from that scene. Overall, it is a well chosen film that is sure to win your heart.

This movie was a childhood favorite with interesting animation techiques and a wonderful storyline. Television doesn't come close to heartfelt, meaningful tales like this one anymore. Unlike the "fluff" animation that airs today, children young and old can find joy, sorrow and important lessons learned in this timeless animated tale.

I watched this as a kid and really liked it. Back then, the animation was impressive, but today, I am sure that kids would be a little disappointed. I still found the story very sweet and enjoyable. I was glad to have found the CD and watch it again.

This was a film that I watched when i was a little girl. I haven't seen or heard of it for many years. What a treat when I finally saw it on E-bay. It is a great short cartoon type for all ages, and is very entertaining. This movie takes place in the Austrailian bush and has real life backgrounds, and the characters are cartoons. This one will pull at your heart strings.
