Hasn't stood the test of time that well

    Created: 02/06/10
I admit it, I really liked this game as a kid. Double Dragon 2 was so much better than the first. But recently purchasing it and playing it, it just feels like it hasn't stood the test of time well at ALL.

By that I mean millions of other fighting games have come along since then. By and large they have all easily relegated Double Dragon 2 for the NES to below average status. That's not to say it isn't still fun, but Double Dragon 2 is not only extremely repetitive, but it's painfully short.

Also, the difficulty will spike immediately and exponentially without warning. By this, I mean the ONLY way you can complete the game is if you play it on the hardest difficulty. You've only got three lives, and NO continues.

For a game that really isn't all that fun, the lack of continues and the inability to get extra lives really sucks the fun out of the game for me.

The lack of variety in the enemies also kills some of the fun too. I think it's hilarious that some enemies are exactly the same except they put a wig on their bald heads.

You've also got a lot of places in the game where you can easily and instantly killed if your jumps aren't pixel perfect and precise. Considering there are 7 stages and instant kill traps appear as early as stage 3, you'll find yourself restarting the game a LOT.

Double Dragon 2 the revenge was a good game for its time. It just hasn't stood up though. There are too many games today that make Double Dragon 2 look below average.

Actually, couldn't get the game to work properly throughout, but probably 'cause we didn't clean it good enough. Resold entire Game System & Games & new owner was advised & seemed confident she could get it to work. Great Game tho, & seller was VERY willing to help us if we had wanted. Happy!!

This game is better than I remember. Just jogs the memory when I play and the kids play. Games have come a long way but this doesn't disappoint

AS awesome as when I was a kid, although the game did need a good cleaning so it wouldn't affect the new pin connector on the game system.

Double Dragon II - Better and Better!!!

    Created: 06/01/11
I was sixteen years old and I begged my mother to purchase this game. My mother thought I had enough games. Therefore, she told me no over and over again! Finally, she said "Okay do this, that, and that. Then!!! I will buy for you. Finally, I got the game and loved it. I played that game from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. with 20 friends from the neighborhood. The fighting in Double Dragon games was ahead of the times. The spinning kick was awesome!! The storyline was a little weird and laughable; but it wasn't horrible. This game I am proud to own. You must add this game to your NES collection!
