Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book by Karen Lindsey and Susan M. Love (2005, Paperback, Revised)

Dr. Love's reference is the definitive book about breast cancer. I have found it useful as I went through the experience of a lumpectomy and two mastectomies. My questions were answered and I could follow my doctors' diagnoses much easier. I have found this excellent book for both my daughter and niece hoping that they could find answers to their questions.

I bought this book because I was recently diagnosed with STAGE 4 LOBULAR BREAST CANCER (which means there is no lump!)The surgeon who did my biopsy said that this book is "the bible" for women with breast cancer as it contains all the information you would ever want to know about the breast and breast cancers. Personally, I never wanted to know all this but now it has become necessary.
The book is very well written with lots of diagrams & drawings to make it all very easy to understand the various conditions of the breast.

This book is written in a language I could understand. It's as if Dr. Love was my personal doctor, being very direct, but understanding. I can't explain it. She just nails it in this book. She definitely knows what she's talking about. I've had 3 surgeries (2 at once one time) and without this book (which was recommended to me by a friend who survived ovarian cancer) I don't know how I would have kept myself together. She tells you when to worry and when not to. Any question you can think of is in this book. You'll probably run across things you hadn't even considered! She explains tests, procedures, your breasts and everything about them. I didn't realize how little I knew about my own breasts. I'm not young, I nursed 4 children, and I still managed to learn a lot from this book. It's my "Boobie Bible".

This is the bible regarding the breasts and breast cancer. A must read for every woman. Very informative, well researched and well written. You don't have to read the whole book but can easily select areas that are of interest to you. Be sure you get the 4th edition, it is the most up to date issue.
