Movie synopsis
A successful New York writer (Daniel Craig) discovers that the country holds just as much menace as the big city after moving his family to a cozy New England town and discovering that their gorgeous new home was once the site of a brutal murder. The closer the writer and his wife (Rachel Weisz) get to their new neighbor (Naomi Watts), the more that details begin to emerge about the slaying of a devoted mother and her two children. ) DREAM HOUSE is one of the most intelligent, riveting supernatural mysteries I have seen in ages. No sex, no gore, and the scenes are NOT filmed in total darkness! Daniel Craig delivers an Oscar-worthy performance as the tormented main character. The solution to the mystery is not obvious, but after watching the whole film you can go back and see where all the pieces fit. Both the backstory and the present-day situation were balanced so that the viewer is satisfied and not confused. The two little girl actresses (sisters both onscreen and in real life) could be the next Dakota and Elle Fanning. Fans of gory slasher flicks can skip this; otherwise, if you want a supernatural story that makes you think, DREAM HOUSE is a dream come true.

This is not just another "Haunted House" movie! It's actually more of a psychological thriller and quite intense. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it had a great plot and little surprises along the way. Great movie and I'd recommend it to not only those looking for a "haunted house" movie, but those who enjoy a movie that really makes you think and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
