Dreamkeeper (DVD, 2004)

It was a great movie!! My friend told me about this movie and said I would enjoy it. She was right! Dreamkeeper has a rich Native American story.
The century old storyteller and his troubled grandson come together and begin their journey toward self-discovery. Best of all it's a movie for the whole family to sit and watch..

i saw this movie a few year's ago and loved everything about it, the actor's and especilly the story's, and the quality of the movie, the fx that were used ,but over time i would look for it at movie store's , and cd store's just in case there was a chance it mite be in the used movie part of the store's, but one day i was just sitting at the commputer and decided to google it and it came up with extreamly fast speed on e-bay, i ordered it and got it in like 4 day's, ordered it on a friday and got it on tuesday, that was fast, did'nt have to pay alot for it like i thought i would cause it was hard for me to find and i let a co-worker borrow it and she orderd 2 she and a few friend's loved it so much and fell in love with the story's , and thay never thought of e-bay untill i mentioned e-bay, i also just yesterday ordered a collector's edition of a hard to find cd, great white hooked, the unedited cover collector's set, and again great price, thought i would not like the price but it was just rite, e-bay gave more than 2 price range's and i found one i could live with, so i will be rocking in no time, anyway im going to be useing e-bay alot for stuff that is hard to find, stuff i've been looking for , and with price option's i can live with, thankyou very much to e-bay, i would be still be looking and probley frustrated by now, take care and im glad to write a review for you .

I love the storytelling aspects of this film. Not only the use of Native Americans, their culture, and the myths and legends that inspire life's lessons but the special effects used to bring these stories and characters to life are amazing. This is a fantastic movie for anyone interested in NA ways, folklore or simply love a good, interesting story told in a unique and eye catching way.-- Robert

This movie mixes present time and circumstance with several native tales of years gone by.

It is a fantastic tale of a young man overcoming the struggles of life on the Reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota...where poverty is the only way of life they know. Grandfather wants to take a final trip to the All Nations Pow-Wow in New Mexico. During their trip, many tales of old are shared...and these tales come to life with awesome digital effects.

Folks, if you have ever wondered about the spirituality of the Native Americans, this movie is a must see!

I infuse American Indian culture into my middle school environmental science curriculum. The movie Dreamkeeper vividly portrays a young man's awakening to his native roots and the power of spirit. The graphics used to portray the stories being told by the Grandfather bring this journey to life and engages the viewer in this awakening. I highly recommend this movie for all ages.
