Pretty good for the price

I bought this game at a very low price, so I am sort of appreciative of how much I got for only $3. If I had spent $20 on it, this review would probably be different. As it is, I have to say this is a good game with a deep card battling system. Even though it is a little easy - I played the same characters four times and am already ranked Advanced - and it mostly depends on how lucky you are in getting the right cards, I still enjoyed it. I have to say that trading in eight uncommon cards just for a new pack is unrealistic, but the game does a good job at explaining battles so each one might last 5 minutes tops.
There is little direction in the game at the beginning, and the voice acting is bad, but if you are reading this review because you can buy it for less than $5, go ahead. You get a lot of game (plus a booster pack!) for your money.

This is my favorite game for the PS2 system. If you like Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, or any card battling game, then Duel Masters is right up your alley! I am addicted to this game, and I also have it for the GameBoy Advance system. I can play these games for hours! Back when this first came out years ago, I would skip school just to play it! (-:

A lot of waiting.

Aside from the animations of the characters and the cel-shaded overworld, there's not much to this game. There are a lot of cards and effects which would allow for decent gameplay, except the game insists on taking dramatic pauses. There are also animations for EVERY SINGLE ATTACK, which take way too long and are generally pointless. They can be turned off, though.
All in all, this would be a decent game for a kid for its price (I got mine for $5 new), but for a teen or adult, there is far too much waiting through pointless cutscenes.

The creachers & the weapons are kool. But, theres no, 1 on 1 fighting, no contact, kind of complicated, for most kids. I thought it was going to be like mortal combat. That's what it leads you to believe. My kids thought it was boring, and no action. Disapointed!
