Dumb and Dumber (DVD, 1997)

Extremely funny stuff here, although I will admit some just don't get it. Comedy is truly something that is funny to some, and not to others, but I find this one a classic of comedies. Some of the humor is crude, like when they sell their deceased pet to a young sightless child, (sorry, but I had to laugh)but you have to realize this is a movie, and not intended to be re-produced in real-life! Jim Carey is simply a riot in this one, as he plays a limo driver that parks at the curb and scurries to the back and pretends to be a "rich and famous" passenger flirting with women-too funny! He is on a mission to return what he thinks is lost luggage left by a most attractive woman (whom he actually marries in real life?) The luggage is filled with ransom money, and the crooks are in hot pursuit of it as well. Jeff Daniels is partner-in-crime companion in the Aspen-bound trip, which sees the two tossing in "IOU's" when they need to borrow money from the luggage. They lose their only money-maker, a Mutt-Mobile used by Daniels to groom dogs, but he quickly redeems himself by using the proceeds to by a moped, which they ride in tandem, never even stopping for restroom breaks, which leaves them stuck together like popsicles. If you are a fan of the Three Stooges slap-stick type humor, or Mel Brooks film Blazing Saddles, then I feel you will love this one. Give it two thumbs up, for so stupid its funny!

Lloyd Christmas & Harry Dunne (Jim Carrey & Jeff Daniels) are masterful in the dumb and stupid humor department. I am a big fan of both actors and WAS NOT dissapointed in the stupidity, dumbness and mental numbness of this movie. Randy Quaid would have been good in this too. The humor is very off-beat and downright unwitty(obviously). It is in a class all of its own. I can appreciate the entire movie and it's charm. There are scenes in the movie that are just OUTRAGEOUSLY HILARIOUS! If you looking for a goofy, silly and chucklefilled movie, this is one to see. I can see how many people would get their funnybone tickled from this movie. But I can tell you as being a comedy writer that with ANY comedy, you have to acquire a taste for the style. If dumb, unwitty, stupid and sometimes clever comedy is up your alley, I recommend you view this. This stays in my all time video library. I give it 3 thumbs up.

The title tells you everything you need to know about the 2 characters in this movie. Not in a bad way though. These guys are so stupid, it's absolutely hilarious. I have to rate this in the top 5 comedy movies of all time. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels make a great tandem as they embark on a journey to the midwest to return a brief case that doesn't belong to them. They get mixed up in a case of mistaken idenity and they encounter quite a few 'sticky' situations along the way.

Our entire family loves this movie! We all agree when it comes to a funny laugh out loud flick - this is it! Jim Carrey is great in this movie. It is a lot of silly humor so if you enjoy those kind of movies, you will love this one!
An interesting fact about this movie is: Jim Carrey became close with and began dating his Dumb and Dumber co-star Lauren Holly. You can see the chemistry in this movie & it adds to it's charm. They were married on September 23, 1996 - sadly the marriage lasted less than one year.
This movie is a great classic comedy for the family. Younger members of the family will get a kick out of the bathroom style humor, although I would not recommend this for small children. Our children are 12 and older. Pop some corn and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

This has to be the funniest movie I ever saw. Dumb & Dumber is about to low life guys who live together (Jim Carrey & Jeff Daniels) Lloyd Christmas is a limo driver who drives an attractive woman to the airport. He notices that see dropped her bag and sets out on a journey to return it to her. But Harry and Lloyd run in to some problems along the way. Watch the movie to find out. I give this movie 5/5 becuase you'll watch itover and over again and still laugh.
