A Must Have (if you can find it)

D&D: Heroes is an excellent game. I've never even played the board games, and found this to be lots of fun.
The game allows for 1-4 players with four distinct characters. The characters to choose from are: a Human Fighter, an Elven Mage, a Halfling Rogue, and a Dwarven Cleric. Each character possesses unique weapons and mystical abilities that can be unlocked as you level up throughout the game. You can also increase your character's qualities by leveling and finding mystical items to make your character stronger, smarter, and deadlier. How you upgrade your character requires strategy, though, to make sure you're as strong as possible for the trials ahead.
D&D: Heroes takes the player on an epic journey across six worlds, each with its unique dangers and treasures. Your ultimate goal is to defeat Kadin, an evil wizard, by gathering powerful magical gemstones. There are many smaller quests to fulfill along the way, each with rewards. Some quests you have no choice but to complete, they're built in to the main storyline.
This game is great for one person play, but having a party of three or four can be lots of fun as well. The game can be more challenging with multiple players, because the amount of money and equipment you'll find along the journey doesn't increase, and has to be split four ways.
There are also four difficulty settings: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Nightmare. I haven't played Nightmare yet, but Hard setting is really tough. The difference between difficulty settings (as far as I can tell) is that a harder setting means more bad guys with stronger attacks. Luckily, this game gives you "Raise Dead Amulets" which can revive a dead character so you don't have to go all the way back to your last save. You can only save your game at "Warp Spots", usually at the beginning and end of a map. Some people don't like this, but I like it because I think it's more challenging.
Overall, the graphics on this game are excellent. The magical attacks especially are dazzling. I've read some reviews claiming the graphics in 'Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance' are better than this game, and I completely disagree. I've played both games and D&D:Heroes is far superior.

Outstanding game: Unquestionably recommended.

Although the graphics are dated (Original X-Box) This game really is a lot of fun! Up to four players simultaneous non-stop co-op action! Made by Atari, it is more like an up-dated version of Gauntlet, with more role playing options. However, it is NOT a true RPG. More of an action arcade title set in the world of D&D.

There are just too few 2 player co-op RPGs out there. and if you like baldur's gate, this is just about the same except maybe a little more challenging, which for me meant more fun. it is still your typical hack and slash game, but with good story, secret passages, cool weapons, and hard bosses. the only thing i didn't really like about the game, was the camera angels. took a little to get used to at first. i would highly recommend this game for anyone who liked baldur's gate or is looking for a 2 player co-op RPG!

No need for dice, books, or character sheets!

I'm an advent D&D player myself, so it was no surprise that I became instantly addicted to this RPG. It's action packed D&D goodness that is even better after a night of rollin' d's. It's good to even play with your party during a break from the real thing, lol. I loved the cut scenes in this game. Their gore surprised me a bit. I also love pumping up the difficulty to be constantly surrounded by enemies to just cleave them down anyways. Boss fights were great. I recommend this game to any D&D player. :]

This is a great role playing game that captures the Dungeons & Dragons world. It is a four player game, something that is very rare with the X-Box 360. Furthermore, I do not know if they will create a Dungeons & Dragons game for the 360 and if they do, I doubt it will be a four player event.
Anyway, I recommend this game if you are into the RPG of Dungeons & Dragons
