Sultry. Soulful. FERGIE FERG is in da House!!!

I bought this cd because I love the Black Eyed Peas' "Elephunk" & "Monkey Business" cds. I liked Fergie's voice on those cds and when I heard 'London Bridge', 'Fergalicious', and 'Glamorous' I knew I just HAD to add this one to my cd collection. These 3 songs instantly hook you in with their infectious beats and inane hip-hop culture lyrics. If you like listening to mindless, good time music that you can dance to - and THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT - you'll like most of this album.
People seem surprised when they hear that Fergie can actually sing. She has a wonderfully soulful voice which most of us have heard on 'Big Girls Don't Cry.' There are a few other cuts such as 'Finally' with John Legend that allow Fergie to slow it down and show her sultry side. So far I've found that this album has a little bit of something for everybody I hang out with.
**** I bought the PA (Parental Advisory) version of this cd. I wouldn't recommend this version to anyone under 17. The light cursing shouldn't offend most adults; I've heard a lot worse on the Sopranos. *****
If you want to hear insightful, thought-provoking music or songs protesting war or global warming go hang out with the tree-huggers. Fergie is clearly not the artist you're looking for. Talk to Bono or Sting. (No offense to Bono or Sting or their fans).

Better than most solo efforts

I have not always been a fan of Fergie. In April, this dude got me to go out with him because he recited the lyrics from London Bridge and they were so ridiculously funny that I thought he was funny, but he turned out to be a dud... Anyway, my friend recently got this CD and I listened to it and didn't hate it! "Clumsy" is a perfect description of the way I feel about someone. Many songs show the softer side of Fergie, like "All that I Got" and "Big Girls Don't Cry." A fun reggae song "Mary Jane Shoes" will have you chillin' with your windows down. Now I have my own copy.

Fergie as the Dutchess

I bought this CD because I really enjoy the 3 songs from this album that I have heard on the radio. ("Clumsy", "Glamorous", and "Big Girls Don't Cry." There is one other song on the CD that I appreciate, the leading track "Fergalicious."
All in all, though, I was disappointed with the CD. The remaining tracks on the CD are not good. Fergie performs them well, but there's nothing there musically or lyrically. I think she needs to talk to her writers.

Better than Black Eyed Peas

This cd is a very good cd for all the hip-hop, pop, and rap lovers out there. This cd has five very good songs that are all hits including Fergalicious, London Bridge, and Glamorous. If anybody is planning on getting the deluxe edition the good songs are Barracuda from the Shrek 3 soundtrack, Party People from Nelly's Brass Knuckles album, and Labels or Love from the Sex and the City Soundtrack. It also includes a remix of Clumsy featuring Soulja Boy Tell Em' and Collipark.

Fergie ?

CD has some outstanding cuts, I just hope that Fergie is not going to be a one hit wounder. As it is her first solo CD it jumps from truly great hip-hop/dance to slower songs that could have been reworked a bit. Its just a matter of Fergie finding her style.
