Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires is pretty fun. If you've never played a DW game, this might be a good one to start. If you've played them before, then expect more of the same really. This game does improve over the 4th empires game however, as it adds new features like tactics, that can really make a difference on the higher difficulty settings.

It also adds more strategy, as every officer under your command can't be picked whenever you're attacking/defending. They have to be in said territory, or in the one next to it. So if you only have the generic officers, or very few officers overall, you might find yourself in trouble.

Good game overall, I bought it because I am a fan. If you aren't, then you should consider renting it first or something. If you liked the other ones and aren't tired of the same hack 'n slash then, this game is for you.

The review title is self-explanitory. Wow. I LOVE this game (and most of the time it loves me back). The strategist control (you know, the empire mode and army commands and what not) is AWESOME. I really hope most of the people who played this game (or maybe even others in the Dynasty Warriors series) had a great experience like myself. On a closing note, it's a highly addictive, mind-stimulating and riveting game. 5 stars in my book.

If you enjoy action with a touch of strategy, this is the game for you.

It is not necessarially challenging on the strategy end of the game, but improved over Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires by allowing more direct control over the options available during the non-fighting stages. As you decide on policies (supporting the people or dictating them), more powerful and effective options are made available as the game continues based on being a "good" or "evil" leader.

As far as the action goes, there are many officers to choose from and the game play is very open. This is a kind of game that will never be played the same way twice.

Purchased this june 2009 for my son's 10th bday. He really likes it. he explains that the player takes empires, build armys, fight warriors, upgrade army to make it stronger, make allies. the game has officers which are the leaders of the soldiers.
