Ecco is just as amazing as I remember from playing it as a new release on the game gear. It seems a little more difficult though for some reason...maybe the game gear version couldn't support as many bad guys on the screen at once, compared to the genesis. In any case, the graphics are top of the line sega, the gameplay is highly addictive, and the mellow background music really create a one of a kind underwater experience.

Beautiful, yet insanely difficult
Created: 03/08/06
Ecco the Dolphin is a franchise that has never failed to cause its players to rip their hair out in times of impossible puzzles that make them want to take the game out and chuck it across the room. I, myself, have never beaten an Ecco game; my attention span gives out before I get to the end. The game itself, however, is something to truly behold. Out of the 52 Sega Genesis games I own, Ecoo the Dolphin is hands-down the most beautifully done one of all. The scenary looks like something done on a CD game than that of a 16bit cartridge. The controls are well laid out and the gameplay itself is a sinch. The only drawback to this game is its difficulty, which Ecco just happens to be known for. Still, it's a must-buy for any Sega Genesis owner. After all, who doesn't want to save the world with a dolphin?

Fantastic Game for Genesis!

"Ecco the Dolphin" is One of the best games for the Sega Genesis! (rivaling with "Ecco 2: The Tides of Time", and "Sonic the Hedgehog"!)
Take part of a fantastic aquatic adventure as Ecco the dolphin, solving challenging puzzles and dodging dangerous foes in over 25 gigantic levels, on a quest to find Ecco's lost pod!
The art of the game is absolutely breathtaking! Vibrant colors, and beautiful designs! The details and graphics are incredibly good for a genesis game!
The game play for "Ecco the Dolphin" is fantastic! You will dash around subterranean caves, and clear obstacles, using moves that are used by real dolphins! The operation of the game runs incredibly smoothly, and nearly never glitches, and never freezes!(if the condition of the cartridge and your system is good). The game uses a password saving system, and there are NO LOADING SCREENS!!!
This game is fantastic in every way possible! You should definitely add "Ecco the Dolphin" to your collection of games, and don't forget to also get "Ecco 2: Tides of Time" for the Genesis, and also look for "Ecco: Defender of the Future" for the Playstation 2 or Sega Dreamcast!

I remembered playing this game a long time ago on a different game cunsole. The graphics are fabulous on the dreamcast, so is the music. It's a deffinate must have. I bought the game on eBay, because games for the Dreamcast are almost immpossible to find in any store. You have quite a nice selection here, to choose from.

A must have game for the Genesis system
Created: 19/03/07
Ecco the Dolphin is one the best and the hardest game for the Sega Genesis. You play up to 25 levels in the game.In order to get new abilities you have to rescue other dolphins who are missing in there group. You really have to think in this game because is a puzzle game and that is why this one of the hardest games for the Genesis system. For a 16-bit game it really looks great.I would recommed this game for gamers who think the games they play now are too easy, and for those who have a Sega Genesis system that have not played this game before should buy this game.
