Album Notes
Personnel: Rob Zombie (vocals); John Five (guitar); Blasko (bass guitar); Tommy Clufetos (drums).Like his brutal film THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, Rob Zombie's 2006 album, EDUCATED HORSES, strips down his macabre aesthetic, largely ditching the overt kitsch and busy, techno-tinged arrangements in favor of a heavy, 1970s-inspired stoner aesthetic. Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper's influence on Zombie have never been more apparent than on these 11riff-laden tracks, including the propulsive "Foxy Foxy," the scathing "Let It All Bleed Out," and the haunting title track to his aforementioned splatter movie, which he wrote, directed, and produced. Although some fans may miss Zombie's wackier, cartoonish style, HORSES marks the emergence of a more mature and formidable performer.

hmmmm....so so

I like this album, but I don't love this album. I bought it for 'Foxy, Foxy'. I do like the fact that it isn't as heavy as some other White Zombie stuff (sometimes, you can actually understand what he saying).
I would like to know where the title "Educated Horses" came from.
Basically, I like the "House of 1,000 Corpses" soundtrack which was mainly songs Rob Zombie wrote for the film and I was sorta hoping this album might be similar, but actually, the only song "The Devil's Rejects" (which is a reject from movies soundtrack) is the only song that sounds anything like the "House of 1,000 Corpses" soundtrack.
But there are still good songs to be heard. "Let it All Bleed" has a pretty good riff in it. "Foxy, Foxy" is catchy and Sherri Moon does a pretty good job of dancing to it in the video. There's a few more songs which are okay.
Basically, I think it's good for the price I paid.
Full price would have been a disappointment.

I like to see Rob Zombie come to a more mellow side, like on Sawdust in the Blood, but he delivers heavily with American Witch and Foxy Foxy. Overall, a good CD, but if you are expecting another sinister urge or hellbilly deluxe, i suggest to keep looking. 4/5*

Assault from Rob Zombie

Created: 29/12/08
Well, ole Rob has still got it. He just keeps pumping out CD after CD. R. Zombie's growl is very distinct and any Zombie fan can peg him in an instant! Rob Zombie appears to be trying to free his self of the "industrial/techno" label that a lot of the music industry has given his style of music. This CD rather sounds a lot more like a mix of new age hard rock meshed with Sabbath style riffs of the 70's. He has definitely taken this CD in a new direction and Rob has not disappointed, once again.

Classic Rob Zombie in action!

Anyone who is a fan of Rob Zombie will love this album. The songs rate up there with his hits "Dragula" and "Living Dead Girl." This album does not disappoint, and like I said, if you are a Rob Zombie fan, this album absolutely belongs in your collection. If you are unfamiliar with Rob Zombie but you love hard-hitting rock that makes you want to dance, this album's throbbing beats and awesome vocals will get you on your feet!

The king of all shock rock never disappoints!

Created: 09/06/08
Rob Zombie is the king of all shock rock next to Marilyn Manson. Neither one of them ever disappoints at all. Educated Horses was another great album by a great artist. I would recommend it for any new fan. Zombie definately brings it and you know he will continue too!
