Their confrontational, profanity-laced lyrics, creepy vocals, claustrophobic arrangements, and churning, angular riffs are all designed to evoke a bleak, post-apocalyptic urban landscape. Equal parts hard rock, punk-metal, and industrial, the Union Underground's sound is a heavy, punishing one, their songs full of distaste for modern society and its hypocritical mores.This might make the group's music too much too take, were it not for the fact that their Alice In Chains-derived harmonies, post-grunge guitar hooks, and relentlessly hooky song structures offset the aural onslaught effectively. ) There are ten actual songs on this album, the first track is introductory. The whole album is listenable from start to finish. Nine tunes on this album are solid jams. These days many bands record a cover song for fun and put it on their albums, or so they say. Hardly any bands record a song that's their own just for fun. The last track on this album was done for fun and you can tell by the lyrics. It's not a tune I listen to all of the time but it's a 3 out of 5 stars for sure. Musically this entire album is a joyride album. It's Rock 'N' Roll with enough electronic distortion and hard hitting beats to satisfy. It hits hard and has one hell of a groove to it. It's the balls of American Rock for sure. When it comes to Rock stars and fame most people get that kind of lifestyle and could easily explain it to you. The lyrics on this album are just that. It's not an album with political views or with some kind of message filled with ego and bull. It's an album that you take it for what it is and it's an album to relax and rock out to. If you're the type of person that is not to far to the left or to the right. It's a one of a kind treasure that's out of print and I recommend the buy.

Like others here, I got this CD as a replacement. I had bought it back in high school after hearing "Revolution Man" on the radio. Disc got scratched up and I got to missing my faves: "Natural High" and "Trip With Jesus". Gotta love edgy rock with a dark sense of humor and unapologetic attitude!

) This is the only cd by Union Underground besides a live cd.And is is some butt kicking rock and roll!!!I bought this to replace my old one that was way scratched from too much play!!!!It is a great cd for a heavy rock and roller!!!Tamistuff

I recently realized that the lead singer of this band lives down the street from me and I used to goto middle school with him. Weird. Anyway, thought Id check out the album since its my kind of music and bam! It rocks! I recognized a couple songs I didnt even know was Union. Its almost 10years old now but its still right up there with the new stuff out right now. Good job Bryan, long way from when we used to listen to Motley Crue back in the day!
