Best extensive RPG for the Xbox
Created: 08/05/06
This game literally takes months to complete every single mission, there are about a 1,000+ side mission and a lengthy main quest.
This particular game includes the two expansions that were for the PC version: Bloodmoon and the Tribunal. Which adds even more quests, new armor sets, enemies, weapons, two more main quests for each area, and two huge new areas to explore.
The graphics are very good and the gameplay is easy to get a hang of. Whether your exploring the charred ashlands, open fields, or plunging into a eerie crypt you will find many endless oppurtunities with this game! Definately a must-have for those Open-ended RPG lovers out there!

I did not get to play this game when it first came out on either the PC or the XBOX (not XBOX 360). I now have a newly purchased used XBOX original console to experience how the game play was. It was not bad at all. The game is the precursor to Oblivion that came out on the PC & XBOX 360. I played Oblivion first on both the PC & XBOX 360.
With all that said the Morrowind (GotY)(XBOX) is a great game to play on the XBOX and has longer load time than on the XBOX 360 which it can play on if you have the Pro or Elite versions. The setting are visually dark compare to other Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games. Sometime to dark to make out the scene you are in or clearly see who you may be fighting(AI Player). I resolved this by brightening the back light/intensity or the TV I was playing on. Side note: most TV's are running brightness at about 50% to conserve electricity and the life of the TV.Back to the game. Even though it is dark visually at time the visual detail that lead to the creation of Oblivion is all their of course not 1080p but very good for the version it was. I think it could do 480p or 720p but don't quote me on those figures. Over all the game play is challenging. This is not a 5 to 10 hour hack and slash game it is more 200+ hours of fun for one time through. You can change character type and extend the game play to close to 1000+ hrs if you play just a few combination of player type ie human or dark elf and many more.
The game is a wide open game that you can walk the entire game without cut-scenes moving you to another location. the Level of detail is out of this world. It was game like this that made the XBOX popular to begin with.
I suggest this game in XBOX or PC form. The XBOX version is no longer made and is getting harder to find a good copy. The PC version is still being sold in the stores. It is your chose to which one you get. I do suggest you use the XBOX 360 to play this game to help eliminate the continual load times of the original XBOX. Other than is one of the best RTS game made to date.
I hope my rambling was to much and this review helps.

Not as good as the P.C. version but worth every cent...

I really love the freedom that Bethesda offers players with in their games. They really know how to give you an experience that changes every time you play. Which obviously makes the replay value priceless. The plot‘s of their games, although not the most original, is certainly engaging and fun to the very end. The same can be said about Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition. You have hundreds of extra hours due to the additions of Tribunal, and Bloodmoon. This is a must have for any RPG fan.
I have played the P.C. version and the extra control within the game made the experience much better. If you have a choice I would recommend that version over Xbox‘s. Though I do know that Vista driven computers will most likely have issues until Bethesda decides to make a patch for it. I had to purchase the Xbox version for this reason myself. I still thoroughly enjoyed the game even with the limits. And anyway, those only playing the console will never know the difference.
So to wrap up… Morrrowind is an engaging game, right from the moment you step off the boat in Seyda Neen. From there you are directed to many different locations to complete many different jobs. These can be anything from shopping and foraging to murder. By the time you are told just what the heck is going on you will already have put in many engaging hours of intense play. The leveling system is unlike most role-playing games, and actually adds to the experience. Rather than running around and mindlessly killing things, you actually have to utilize your main skills to level up. I really like this better because you are forced to utilize the different aspects of the already deep game play. I do notice a large learning curve to get used to, but it is fairly intuitive. To level up your sword fighting skills, swing your sword at your enemy. To level up your acrobatics, jump as much as possible. Though there is much more than just swinging and jumping, especially when it comes skills like alchemy and spell creation. Top all this off with the ability to join guilds, including a assassins organization, you have quite an amazing game packed into that one little disk.
I recommend this game to anyone looking for adventure. It will last many satisfying months. One warning though. If you get into this game it will suck up much of your time, as there really is no forcing you to do the main quest. You can quite literally run around doing side quests and exploring for many weeks. But that’s what I love about these open ended games. Please enjoy…

i originally bought this because i had played oblivion and it caught my eye with werewolves(which i hope they bring back in skyrim!!) that was only the reason why i got interested in it though. the graphics are pretty suckish for 2011 but back when it was made these were the cream of the crop. the game has so much depth that you could play for 500+ hours and still not find everything that there is to find. what i like about it over oblivion is that the towns and cities are rendered with the wildlife areas so that you dont have to load a new area every time you want to enter a city or if you forgot something that was on the ground just through the gate(this is from a personal reference) they get way detailed when it comes to weapons and magic and things of that kind. and as i mentioned earlier if you have the bloodmoon expansion on pc or (goty) for xbox like i do then you get to fight this whole werewolf against village war and you get to pick a side which of course i chose lycanthropy over being a mortal.:P i still mostly had fun with the loodmoon expansion but the entire game is definitely worth it. it kicks oblivion's a** with detail for sure and the magic has its ups and downs from oblivion. i honestly like the fighting system in oblivion more but for everything else(except main story, morrowind storyline is boring) morrowind is the best.i still havent gotten to tribunal though. for those who have read this entire rant i thank you for having the patience to deal with my bullsh*t for several moments.

Morrowind
Created: 10/09/09
The game is a great forerunner of the current crop of Mythic role playing games. Obviously, 5 or 8 years of age in software is enormously significant and Morrowind cannot compete with today's games in technical prowess, including movement, background and interaction. It does not have the level of interaction of Oblivion, but it remains a fun and fascinating role playing game. Xbox owners should beware: the game freezes often with the original XBox and won't play on our Xbox 360 without some type of conversion software. This game is best played on the PC. It is the subject of numerous modification both authorized and non official. I may yet get the game on PC as this is quite reasonable today. My gradeschool children love all the Elder scrolls games out of Bethesda company. They're looking forward to the sequel to Oblivion; Elder Scrolls V.
