) The Electro-harmonix Micro Metal Muff is a surprising kick in the amp for anyone looking for that little extra something in their bag of tricks.I've been playing rock,hard rock and classic metal for more years than I care to admit and I've even built a few of my own pedals and I have to say this thing is never leaving my sight.My rig includes the ever present Les Paul/half stack formula as well as the flavor of the month distortion pedal,a Delta Lab delay,a Mod Tone chorus,Electro-harmonix Freeze and Octave Mutiplexer.
Let me just say that the top boost switch doesn't even get used...maybe for fun this weekend I'll check it out.The level of sheer volume you can get out of this thing is very useful for a variety of situations(single coil guitars...to overdrive a small combo for recording,etc.) and the tone control will cover areas I haven't even thought of yet but the REAL reason you want this pedal is the third knob from the sun!! This is HOME for guys like me. The distortion from this unit(not to mention the real lack of noise for a high gain unit)is like full on metal raging stack apocalypse under complete control by YOUR fingers! Made in U.S.A. still means something and this unit puts the exclamation mark all over it! WAY TO GO ELECTRO-HARMONIX

It is the first Electro-Harmonix pedal that I use. So I can not say about others but this is the best metal pedal I've ever heard in my life. When I called the first time the sound of my guitar just had the sound of the best metal bands. Is it worth paying more.
Small pedal with massive power!

This pedal is about the size of a regular boss pedal but it has the power of the boss mt-2 and ml-2 combined.
Although my amp is kind of a piece of crap, this pedal sounds amazing and even though there is really not much use for the top boost because it results in massive amounts of feedback through my Fender Frontman 15G it still has great settings and is a lot of fun to play around with. If you love playing heavy metal like I do you need this pedal in your line up!
