Synopsis
In the 11th Stephanie Plum mystery, the New Jersey bounty hunter decides that she's tired of endangering both herself and her cars. So Stephanie quits her cousin's bail bond agency, and goes in search of new, less hazardous employment. While coping with the slings and arrows of the more mundane working world and, as per usual, attempting to choose between the two men in her life--domineering but studly Joe Moretti and dangerous, impossibly sexy bounty hunter Ranger--her previous career associations continue to persist in the form of a mysterious assailant who seems determined to see her dead.

Book Description & Review

Created: 27/09/05
Stephanie Plum is thinking her career as fugitive apprehension agent has run its course. She's been shot at, spat at, cussed at, fire-bombed, mooned, and attacked by dogs. Time for a change, Stephanie thinks. Time to find the kind of job her mother can tell her friends about without making the sign of the cross. So Stephanie Plum quits. Resigns. No looking back. No changing her mind. She wants something safe and normal. As it turns out, jobs that are safe and normal for most people aren't necessarily safe and normal for Stephanie Plum. Trouble follows her, and the kind of trouble she had at the bail bonds office can't compare to the kind of trouble she finds herself facing now. Her past has come back to haunt her. She's stalked by a maniac returned from the grave for the sole purpose of putting her into a burial plot of her own. He's killed before, and he'll kill again if given the chance. Caught between staying far away from the bounty hunter business and staying alive, Stephanie re-examines her life and the possibility that being a bounty hunter is the solution rather than the problem. After disturbingly brief careers at the button factory, Kan Klean Dry Cleaners, and Cluck-in-a-Bucket, Stephanie takes an office position in security, working for Ranger, the sexiest, baddest, bounty hunter and businessman in two continents. It might not be the job she'll keep for the rest of her life, but for now, it gives her the technical access she needs to find her stalker. Tempers and temperatures rise as competition ratchets up between the two men in her life --her off-again, on-again boyfriend, tough Trenton cop, Joe Morelli, and her bad-ass boss, Ranger. Can Stephanie Plum take the heat? Can you?
** I have totally fallen in love with the Plum series by Janet Evanovich! For those of you have read any of the books ... Joe vs. Ranger, need I say more? For those of you who haven't, wow, it dosen't get any better than this! My favorite thing about this book? It's fun! It let's me escape my somewhat normal life and live Stephanie's for a little while. To be honest, I think that's all I could live of her life. Between the never ending car problems to people trying to kill her, she's one crazy lady and I love reading about her!

Eleven on Top by Janet Evanovich

Created: 27/08/06
Eleven on Top is in my opinion one of the top 3 books in this series. (10 and 12 being the other 2)
Our heroine Stephanie is tired of being a bounty hunter, getting shot at, her car blown up....again (wonder what her insurance costs?), ending up in a dumpster or with garbage on her, nuts trying to shoot her; enough already she says. I'll get a normal job. So she tries several jobs and in true Stephanie style disaster strikes, and she is jobless and some nut from the past is trying to kill her. She decides to take an office job with her former bounty hunter mentor Ranger,(gorgeous and all round hunky guy) and his organization a security force/bounty hunter service. Stephanie's boyfriend Joe (the hottie cop), isn't too happy about the arrangement but agrees she will be safest there.

This was a non-stop action, hysterically funny book. As I said I rate it in the top 3 of the series. You'll enjoy the story and mystery and laugh out loud. I know it kept me up reading, making me late for work! LOL
Buy it and enjoy.

SO GLAD THAT THIS WAS NOT THE END

Created: 06/09/06
I THOUGHT FOR SURE THAT WHEN BOUNTY HUNTER STEPHANIE PLUM QUIT HER JOB TO LOOK FOR SOMETHING SAFER WAS THE BEGINNING OF THE END. BUT SOMETHING OR SOMEONE ALWAYS SEEMS TO PULL HER BACK IN. MAYBE SHE'S NOT CUT OUT FOR OTHER JOBS...YOU DECIDE.
SUCH A GREAT LEADING CHARACTER WITH ALL THE CRAZY SIDE KICKS YOU CAN IMAGINE.

IF YOU WANT LIGHT & FUNNY WITH BITS OF ROMANCE & MYSTERY...THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!!

Laugh out loud fun

Created: 28/06/06
Stephanie Plum has had enough with being a fugitive apprehension agent, so she sets out to find a job that won't get her cars blown up. After attempting a job at the button factory and at Cluck in a Bucket, she joins Rangeman. Working with Ranger probably isn't a good idea and certainly her on-again, off-again boyfriend Joe Morelli won't like the idea, but somehow she has to pay the rent. But, can she handle working next to Ranger?
I loved this book and laughed out loud a few times. Poor Stephanie just can't decide what job suits her, and I'm not sure I can either. I loved the sexual tension between Ranger and Stephanie. Sure makes it hard for a reader to decide which man she like better.

Excecellent Book!

Created: 09/06/06
Janet Evanovich takes the Stephanie Plum series and runs wild with it. Stephanie is as usual quirky, compassionate, funny, and exciting. Once you start reading the book, you simply cannot put it down. I look forward to seeing twelve soon. Being ripped between Ranger and Joe, the author actually makes you feel like it is you, her writing makes you elevate yourself right into Stephanies heart and mind. After reading Sue Graftons ABC series of books and loving them, I thought it would be hard to find a series comparable, but the Stephanie Plum series meets and exceeds! Stephanie Plum and Kinsey Milhoune could be long lost sisters. Simply a wonderful read, and I enjoyed it very much!
