Strong, Beautiful Desired: Liz and her Diamonds
Created: 05/04/06
I am a jewelry afficianado. I bought this book because I have long heard lore of "the Liz Collection". Liz, has become just as well known in recent years for her tireless crusading for AIDS as in past years for her jewels, beaus, career and let's face it... her scandal. I expected and received photos of fabulous jewels...(beautiful photograpy, the collection is exquisite and you will gaze upon these images time and time again). What I did not expect was a candid and honest recount from Liz herself of the memories she has associated with these gems. And through these memories one begins to see what is truley important to Liz and why she was showered with jewel. They are badges proudly worn of the love and kindness she has given throughout her life and the tradgedy, joy and struggles she has faced. Wow... I just loved it and walked away with a new respect for our Elizabeth Taylor.

Intimate and gorgeous

I'm a grown woman and I secretly harbor the fantasy of being invited to Elizabeth Taylor's house to play dress-up with her jewelry collection. This book makes for a great substitute, glorious photos interspersed with Ms. Taylor telling the stories behind the pieces (Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor loved to play Ping-Pong. Who knew?). This is a coffee table book and one to be cherished.

My Love Affair with Jewelry; Elizabeth Taylor
Created: 06/02/07
I'm a huge fan of Elizabeth Taylor so naturally I was interested in what makes her the jewelry queen she is. What I wasn't expecting was the heartwarming stories that accompany each exquisite piece of jewelry. I feel like I've gotten an in depth look into who Elizabeth really is and what has made her one of the most fascinating and prolific women of our time. Not just as an actress but as wife, mother, friend, and humanitarian of important causes that we're still fighting today. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a Elizabeth Taylor fan. And even if you're not a fan, you will be by the first three pages into the book.

I really liked this book because it covers to of my favorite subjects jewelry and Elizabeth Taylor. The book offers stunning pictures on every page of her extensive jewelry collection with many stories of how she acquired each piece. It is narrated by Elizabeth Taylor herself so it is like she is telling you the stories personally. I would definitely recommend this book to any Elizabeth Taylor fan.

For a jewelry lover

I bought this as a great coffee table book, as it is rather large in size. I love jewelry and this book full of amazing pictures, from zoomed in details of pieces to pictures of Ms. Taylor actually wearing her baubles. The written portion of the book are Ms. Taylor reminiscing about the circumstances that she came by each piece. Some might find it trite or insulting (such as guilting a friend into buying her a piece), but to me, the stories do need to be placed in context in the time, which were different than today. It would also be excellent for a book collector, as only one edition of this book has been released. I still feel it was an amazing buy.
