Produced by Crowe, the soundtrack to his 2005 film is filled with rustic tunes and emotive pop/rock. Nancy Wilson of Heart, who composed the movie's score and is the director's wife, opens the album with the lilting instrumental "60B (Etown Theme)," and other notable tracks include the dreamy "Where to Begin" by My Morning Jacket and the spare "Shut Us Down" by Lindsey Buckingham.

great soundtrack!

From Cameron Crowe we should expect such great soundtracks! I love this soundtrack containing good music made by very good artists, as director Cameron Crowe's wife, Nancy Wilson, and Tom Petty, Patty Griffin... wonderful Elton John's song My father's gun. Cd recommended to everyone likes listening to some good music, maybe discovering some new good artists, and to those who liked the film and want to have a memory of it.

Easy on my ears

As far as sound tracks go it's a good one. I bought it cause I like the sound track while I viewed the movie. I do that a lot. Often it's not every cut you like maybe just half but very often you'll hear music that you were not aware of, or never heard before and that's good that you get to experince new groups or new sounds. I like 3/4 (three quarters)of this CD and find that I skip very few songs off theme while it's in my player. If you have not seen the movie it's OK, almost a chick flick, but the music does make it better.
Cold Mountain is still one of the best sound tracks yet for me. AND it was a great movie also.

Needs the movie

Created: 07/01/07
I bought this because I really liked the movie. Although some of the music
is great, overall it was bit of a letdown. It's just that music needs the
movie to bring it into context and move you. This one of the few Movie tracks
I've purchased, but I might think about it before buying more, and if it
would really give the listener that same feel.

Elizabethtown Soundtrack CD REVIEWED

Created: 09/09/07
This is a great acoustic mix of tunes from a super film. Ideal for kicking back and relaxing to on a lazy day. A nice selection, some from artists not that well known but that makes it all the more intriguing to listen to if you've seen the film.
