This game is a great edition to the total war series.

Gameplay: Ever since I first learned about Empire: Total War it was on my list of games to get. Creative Assembly's Total War is one of the most compelling historical strategy series in the PC cataloge. This game has succeeded in creating an immensely engaging experience that captures the grand strategies and battlefield tactics of the 18th century. In this game you get to play many factions such as the the British, French, Native Americans ect. Trade has been simplified now so you won't be marching merchants all around the map. Now trade is handled through the development of trading posts that let you buy improved facilities that produce the goods you need for trade. Despite the numerous additions to the series/ to the game pecificly, Total War veterans will feel right at home here, and the numerous tool tips and tutorial messages will explain how the new elements of Empire fit within the existing scheme. The new Road to Independence campaign begins with a series of limited, scripted objectives that will guide you through some of the basic concepts of the game, from fighting off a Native raiding party at the start, to waging battles on the campaign map, to using ships to move your land units around obstacles. Also the full on ship battles are rather new to the Total War series which is neat but still need some improving.
Graphics: I have to say that the graphics are rather good in this game. Really detailed and colors are well done.
Sound: Sound is good, everything sounds the way they should be, voice overs are not bad and the sound track suits the game well.
Value: All in all this is quite a fun game and great addition to the total war series, though there are just a few bugs that still need to be worked out. I would recommend this game to everyone. I also recommend trying the games Cossacks, Cossacks 2 and Imperial Glory. I give this game 8.5 out of 10.

The game is introducing some differences from previouse Total war titles.
The change is refreshing. Old tactics no longer work so I have to think about new ones. Introduction of naval warfare is great. I didn't had enough time on the sees of Empire Total war, but from few battles I had looks like level of detail comparable even with pure naval simulators from age of pirates. All in all looks like a great game. Too bad you need to update it overnight for it to become playeable. And I dislike the idea that you need internet connection and Steam installed to install and play the game.
