Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (Sony Playstation 3, 2008)

Quake Wars isn't the best online multiplayer game, but it's far from the worst. I found this game to be quite similar to the Star Wars Battlefront series, in that there are two teams, in this case the Global Defensive Forces and the Strogg, and one side must complete certain objectives in a certain amount of time in order to win, while the other team attempts to stop them. The objectives are dependent on certain classes of characters, which makes it all the more difficult to claim victory. Each class fulfills different roles vital to team success, and they all come with different weapons and items. The music gets the job done and the graphics, while not exactly up to par with other games, are not terrible; this game is best played with the greatest number of people, although you can practice with bots in the campaign.

I bought this game because my husband and I love to play a good first person shooter together. The back of the box says 1-16 players and stresses the multiplayer capabilities. So I bought this game only to discover that LOCAL multiplayer (e.i. playing with someone else on the same console) is not offered. I actually called Activision to ask them why they would list more than 1 player if more than 1 player is not an option. They told me its because the game supports more than one AI, or non human player. The game is designed for 1 human player, and up to 15 bots. Who ever looked at a game that said it was designed for more than one player and wondered if they meant human beings? Its very upsetting. I tried to sell the game at my local Game Stop and the guy said to me "Um, I don't know if you've played the game or not but it really sucks. The most we can offer you is $4." Don't waste your money!

not too much of a good first person shooter, and there's barely any people online so dont buy it. Other than that it is like any other first person shooter game that involves being able to ride the vehicles and such and etc

Enemy Territory Quake Wars is a fast action first person shooter with real-time strategy in a multi-player environment. Communicate real time with voice chat and coordinate with your teammates. Defeat the enemy and complete objectives in the game for the win. Play on the PlayStation Network for lightning fast game play against other players. I have played many FPS games in my time, but I find that this is the most addicting, even better than most new games. This game is about 3 years old but never gets old. My favorite game both on PS3 and on the PC!!

Like Battlefield this new game is essentially online-only, featuring huge battles between opposing forces of humans and aliens, with each side possessing a completely different set of vehicles and weapons.
