Featuring the urgent anthem "Don't Stop Believin'" and the soaring ballad "Open Arms," the album showcases Neal Schon's dynamic guitar riffs, Jonathan Cain's bold keyboard lines, and, most importantly, singer Steve Perry's powerhouse vocals. Although the San Francisco-based band achieved success both before and after ESCAPE, which also includes the plaintive "Who's Crying Now" and the wistful "Still They Ride," it stands out as the one record to own for anyone even remotely interested in Journey.

"Escape" is Alive!!

Created: 19/11/08
Absolutely one of Journey's best. If you have not seen the DVD of the Houston concert on the tour for this album, GET IT! The incomparable Steve Perry was ON FIRE that night, running and spinning and jumping without missing a word as he sang. Neal Schon's guitar playing is phenomenal, and they all seem to be having the time of their lives. No one can ever forget "Open Arms", which almost did not make it on this album, some people thinking it was too sentimental and not right for Journey. Now it is known as the most beautiful love ballad in rock & roll, and showcases Perry's voice at its absolute best---it goes straight to the heart. He, in fact, produced the remastered CD/DVD set of that concert, showing another of his many talents as a music man. I hope he does more of those, now that their old albums are having a comeback. Any Journey fan must have this one.

Journey a great rock band

Created: 08/02/07
I remember Journey as I was growing up, I was a teen when they were having great success, Steve Perry as lead vocals and Jonathon Cain who took over as keyboardist when Gregg Rolie left the band to start a solo career. The music is great to listen to and I remember when the song "open arms" was part of the sound track to "Heavy Metal the Movie" which had been put on cable tv in 81. It make for good music to play for those time when you want to set the tone right for a romantic evening with that special someone.

Journey Escape

This is one of Journey's best albums, it contains alot of their greatest hits. I bought this CD for the song Stone in Love, for some reason it's not on their greatest hits album.
