Terry Ellis, Maxine Jones and Cindy Herron Braggs carry on with the gorgeous harmonizing they've become known for while moving seamlessly through several different styles. The prominent use of acoustic and slide guitar lends a southern-fried soul feeling to "Right Direction," while a sample of Run DMC's "Sucka MC's" on "You're All I Need" provides the perfect hip-hop flavoring to go along the hypnotic groove of "Let It Flow."En Vogue's musical talent even transcends the often hyper-glossy production styles of Babyface ("Whatever") and David Foster ("Too Gone, Too Long"). The trio's greatest triumph by far is "Eyes Of A Child," a song crammed with hope, hooks, breath-taking singing and a message of racial tolerance.

    Editorial Reviews
...the advantage these sisters have over the rest of the R&B girlie collectives is that they utilize that element foreign to today's music known as harmony...
    The Source (19970801)

7 (out of 10) - ...En Vogue bring it all back to the basics of gorgeous harmonies and mind-boggling vocal riffs. If Ellis, Braggs, and Jones seem interchangeable (and Dawn Robinson, who went solo, expendable), that's simply further evidence of the group's incredible teamwork...
    Spin (19970801)

3 Stars (out of 5) - ...Song titles like 'Love Makes You Do Thangs' and 'You're All I Need' sum up the gist of these gracefully produced pop-funk confections, which singers Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron and Maxine Jones render with their usual creamy elegance...
