Among the lighter topics addressed are rampant consumerism (a quirkily paced "Shopping"), the incessant quest to be number one at everything (the raucous "Second Best"), and even the media-driven world of fame and fortune in which BNL reside (a harmony-drenched "Celebrity"). As always, co-vocalists Steven Page and Ed Robertson provide quite the potent one-two pop punch, and there are times when the Ladies can go from XTC-informed ditties ("Unfinished") to jittery '80s new wave-flavored nuggets complete with wooshing synths ("Maybe Katie".) As an added bonus, limited edition versions of EVERYTHING TO EVERYONE contain acoustic versions of "Another Postcard," "Maybe Katie," and "Second Best" that are just as delectable as their plugged-in counterparts.
