    Publisher's Note
Although she introduces this guide by remarking that: "your emphasis should be on the spirit of painting, rather than the technical aspects," this US artist/instructor presents many exercises illustrating standard and novel watercolor painting techniques (e.g., using the edge of a credit card to produce lighter shades). Focusing mainly on still lifes and landscapes, Groves concludes with tips on making a painting uniquely one's own. Hardcover binding with an enclosed spiral. Groves uses easy to understand instructions on how to obtain the final results she gets in her pictures. Probably not a good choice for those who don't like to try new and exciting things!

    Creative watercolor information

    Created: 05/01/10
This book was a step above the usual watercolor information. It showed things I hadn't seen before (and I have a lot of watercolor books),it also described exactly how to get the effects. I also liked that it was held together by a spiral as opposed to regular binding, so you could leave it flat to use. Excellent book!
