On this assured 12-song set, the Scottish singer/songwriter mines a charmingly sensitive and intelligent vein of pop/rock that positions her somewhere in between Beth Orton and Sheryl Crow. The key to Tunstall's sound is her resonant and soulful voice, and the album's bold but never over-the-top production only serves to further enhance her songs. Though the highlights of the disc include the jangly "Another Place to Fall," the eminently catchy "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree," and the shuffling "Suddenly I See," the entire record is surprisingly solid, easily ensuring a bright future for Tunstall.

Excellent album

Created: 07/02/07
After hearing "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree", I liked KT's style, but wasn't sure that her cd was worth purchasing simply from one song. When "Suddenly I See" was released I made the choice to pick up "Eye to the Telescope", and what a good decision that was. The cd ranges from upbeat tunes to mellow songs. "Under the Weather", "Silent Sea", and "Minature Disasters" are some of my favorites.

IMPRESSIVE . . . 1st. CD !!

My Sister who lives in the UK, told me about KT Tunstall. She was surprised I hadn't already discovered her. I had heard: Black Horse and the Cherry Tree,
and liked it very much - thought it sounded like Joan Osborne, but did not know who it was. Managed to buy the CD on eBay, though many bidders for each Eye to the Telescope CD posted. I rated as: Excellent, because it is soulful, clean, thoughtful lyrics, catchy tune/beat - and it is only her FIRST!! Her style, voice, music fits in well with my collection of: Janiva Magness, Norah Jones, Angela McCluskey, Diana Krall, Susan Tedeschi to Joss Stone and so many more beautiful, strong and talented women ;)

Eye To The Telescope by KT Tunstall

I had heard her song "Black Horse and The Cherry Tree" on the radio and fell in love with it. When I found out her name I had to buy her CD. After I purchased it I fell in love with the whole album. As a matter of fact, I have it playing while I'm writing this review.
She has a very unique style and voice that is quite a pleasant combination. I hope that she continues to produce music for the world to enjoy even on "The other side of the World".
Keep up the great music KT Tunstall

Eye To The Telescope - KT Tunstall (CD 2006)

Best CD/album I have ever owned!

Never heard of the artist, saw the Black horse and a cherry tree video by accident, looked her up on google and listened to sound bites from 3 songs. Decided to purchase CD from ebay as it was $22.00 in stores, got it for a steal and love it. Will purchase all my music from E-bay from now on.

Every song is great! I usually purchase CD's from retailers and listen once or twice before getting bored. Not this album. Everyone that has listened to my CD has gone out and bought it.

If you are considering it, do. Well worth a look-see!!! A+++++++

KT Tunstall cd

I bought this cd for one song: The black horse and the cherry tree. I am not disappointed. Surprisingly, there are several other decent songs on the cd also. I had never heard of KT Tunstall. I may or may not look for other cds by this artist, but I am pleased with this one.
