    Never available on CD until 1999, Fatboy was Moe.'s first recording, originally released on their own independent label. If the group's major-label albums are marked by uneven songwriting, Fatboy is even more so -- recorded as it was during the band's infancy -- but their instrumental interplay is already undeniably skilled. Even if portions of the jams don't quite approach their later work, there are enough moments where everything jells to make Fatboy worthwhile listening for devoted fans. ~ Steve Huey
