Allright, out of the box you have a good sounding tube amp to practice with at low volumes. When you start using the gain channels, there is noticeable sustain loss and volume on the higher notes. This is irritating when you play anything above the 15th fret. The clean channels don't seem to do it much. Th effects are okay at best, they also rob tone and sustain. BUT BUT BUT.. for 180bucks you get a good sounding tube amp. I use a modded tubescreamer and 50/50 the gain with the pedal and its not bad at all, plenty of harmonics. I play a lot of speed metal and tapping....its overall a good practice amp!

OK, folks, this is a great amp for recording or for bedroom practicing. Clear tones, warm, then add some effects and ...whew! what a great purchase. I highly recommend this amp (unless you are looking for a real "CHamp"), for most purposes aside from club play.
give it a shot and you wont be disappointed.

I was debating whether to get another amp, but after getting this, at what they're selling for now (mine was about $140), it's a no brainer - I have absolutely no regrets. It has those classic Fender tones, with many voicings, plus effects. Now I can practice/play without having my pedal board. A tube amp (o.k., it's a hybrid) at this price, all I can say is "Wow"! If you're on the fence about one, get off while they're still around.

its a good starter amp or bed room amp it might have to many sound effects that keep you serching for the right sound but you find it weak, has good reverb great for bedroom players or apartment low volume

This is a really good amp for bedroom volume playing. It may not be good for much else but it is perfect when you need a low volume amp
