) This book is very helpful. It not only provides you with the music but also background information and where you can find recordings of each of the 500 songs in the book. The only downside to the book is that it is just what it is a fiddler's "fakebook," thus the music isn't as detailed as some (i.e. instead of having four pages for the Orange Blossom Special, it is covered in half a page). I believe it's worth it!

) This book is a wealth of tunes for new and seasoned fiddlers. Includes most popular and some very interesting little known pieces. It's a must have for bluegrass, old time, and Celtic fiddlers.

Fine For Advanced Players Who Read Notation

I purchased this book because it was known to contain the most popular fiddle tunes being played, which may be true if you are an advanced level player who is fluent in reading notation. There are no tabs, or ABC's which is the biggest fault I find with the book. Also, I have found that many songs (Shady Grove, New River Train, Reuben's Train, Old Bunch Of Keys, etc) which are standard Old-Time fiddle tunes are not included.
