STEPHANIE PLUM'S BURG COMES TO LIFE!  WWW.FINGERLICKINFIFTEEN.COM

Published for 2009's summer reading season, a latest installment in the best-selling Stephanie Plum series features tested loyalties, cliff-hanger resolutions, and a tempting assortment of doughnuts. By the author of Fearless Fourteen and Lean Mean Thirteen. 2 million first printing.

Unbuckle your belt and pull up a chair. It's the spiciest, sauciest, most rib-sticking plum yet.
Recipe for disaster: Celebrity chef Stanley Chipotle comes to Trenton to participate in a barbecue cook-off and loses his head - literally.
Throw in some spice: Bail bonds office worker Lula is witness to the crime, and the only one she'll talk to is Trenton cop Joe Morelli.
Pump up the heat: Chipotle's sponsor is offering a million-dollar reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the capture of the killers.
Stir the pot: Lula recruits bounty hunter Stephanie Plum to help her find the killers and collect the moolah.
Add a secret ingredient: Stephanie Plum's Grandma Mazur. Enough said.
Bring to a boil: Stephanie Plum is working overtime tracking felons for the bonds office at night and snooping for security expert Carlos Manoso, aka Ranger, during the day. Can Stephanie hunt down two killers, a traitor, and five skips, keep her grandmother out of the sauce, and solve Ranger's problems and not jump his bones?
Warning: Habanero hot. So good you'll want seconds.

When Lula witnesses celebrity chef Stanley Chipotle literally losing his head, she and Stephanie must find the killer before Lula becomes the next victim, while Ranger asks for Stephanie's help to find out who is leaking client information from within his company.

This is light, fun reading. I have enjoyed every episode (novel) in this series. The author has a wonderful sense of humor and seems to do her homework about factual issues in the story. It is a good series and anyone can pick it up anywhere in the series. You do not have to have read the books in order to enjoy any individual book. I bought it on e-bay actually hoping for a paperback copy, but ended up with hard bound for a lower price than even the paperback would be new retail.

Finger Lickin' Fifteen

OK, I reviewed this book too early. I gave up on Stephanie and on Janet. I really thought they had both disappointed me. Honestly, I could put the book down and totally forget about it. To me that means the book just isn't what I expected. Then I picked it up again. I had put the book down just pages from a scene that had me sitting in the bathroom because I was afraid I would pee my pants. The scene went on for at least a page, maybe two. It felt like I was in the bathroom forever! I had to put the book aside so I could catch my breath. . . at least 4 times! I honestly thought I was going to die laughing at one point.

Ok so it starts slow. Be prepared for the biggest laugh in your life. And it's not the last laugh in the book!
---I know I'm not tired of the antics of Stephanie, Lula and Grandma. So I wonder why it took me so long to get through this particular book. It still made me laugh out loud, made my husband and cat abandon me as totally crazy, but it was almost work to finish reading it. Honestly, I didn't care if Lula got hit by the sauce guy's killers! In the beginning of the book she spent more time with Morelli than Stephanie did. Maybe that's what doesn't feel right. I must admit, I'm glad things are back to normal with Stephanie's cars being blown up. I kind of missed that in the last book, but then, she drove it around with shamanistic graffiti through most of the book. I think she needs to have that done to a car the moment she takes hold of the keys the first time.

Over all, the book is great. I just couldn't get to the "can't put it down" phase I have in every other Evanovich book, even the silly romances!
